Point biserial correlation => Is there any specific command or could I just use cor.test?
Hello, I found in the forum two threads about point biserial correlation. One of them (1) mentioned "a point-biserial correlation is just a Pearson correlation where one of the variables is dichotomous. Thus, the command is just the normal cor function". The other (2) mentioned "Professor Fox's package polycor" as a way to calculate point biserial correlation?

rsync filter rules ignored by rsnapshot
Hello guys, sorry for cross-posting, but imho it could be an error in my rsnapshot setup as well as in my rsync setup. If there is a solution on one of these mailing-lists i will post it to the other one as well. ok? here is my question: when running rsnapshot, my exclude filter is being ignored, but i don't see why. grep -v "#" /etc/rsnapshot-debx40.conf | grep . gives

3.0.24 -- Office read only issue, bizarre EAs and disappearing ACLs
Everyone, I have finally resolved the new heartburn 3.0.24 on Ubuntu Feisty was giving me and have stumbled upon some information that might help others out there. I was seeing problems with ACL entries getting mangled and disappearing, Excel making files read only and extended attributes doing bizarre things. The solution revolved around what appears to be a change in how ACLs are managed.

Home Folder
Sorry hehehehe I mean, when access RSAT and add the "Home Folder" of the User, and give a Apply, the folder is automatically created with the permissions below, where the "Domain Users" is already linked: getfacl rs-01 / # File: rs-01 / # Owner: administrator # Group: domain \ 040users user :: rwx user: rs-01: rwx user: administrator: rwx group :: r-x group: domain \

Home Folder ( extra tip )
Just a tip. If you create users with RSAT and you also uses unix id's ( UID/GID ) Used with AD backend. The first assign the UID/GID and then apply the home dir folders in RSAT. Only for user home dirs. This can help if you also use ssh to login and you cant enter your own home dir. Per example: Your ACL ( for the user ) > # File: rs-01 / > # Owner: administrator > # Group:

Roaming Profiles with Windows ACLs
I've set up a profiles share according to the wiki article: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Implementing_roaming_profiles Users are able to create new roaming profiles and they cannot browse each others' profiles, so all that is working. The only issue is that the group "domain admins" does not have privileges to read or delete user profiles. The acls on the profiles directory

Hi Carlos, Your problem is userA can access home directory of userB? If your issue is only that, then you are right, this issue comes from the fact all AD users are, by default, in "Domain users" and your Home directories grant "Domain Users" "r-x" which means "read and enter" when applied to directory. Simply remove "Domain Users" from these

samba-tool ntacl setting groups as users
Hallo We are trying to migrate from an old Windows server to a Linux samba system. As we are also replacing the old AD, we exported the permissions as SDDLs from the old share and set them to the new system, using "samba-tool". In general it seems to work quite well, but there is a strange behavior. ----- ----- root at smb-01:/# samba-tool ntacl set

rsync 3.0.9 segmentation fault
Hi Roland, Thanks for the reply. Memory usage on both machines seem fine. The server has 4GB's of RAM, of which about 3GB is used during the file list build and about 1.5GB is used during the actual transfer. The client has 16GB of RAM with a peak usage of 8.5GB. I just tried three transfers in a row and it consistently breaks at a certain point, after which I get the "ERROR: out of
