Printproblem WinXP / Samba / Cups
I'm using Samba 2.2.3 (Debian-testing) and CUPS 1.1.15 with a HP-Deskjet950c
Printing from all Linux-Clients works fine.
I also can print any document from the Windows-Boxes ( XP & 2k ).
The Problem is : If I want to make more copys than one I still get one paper printed out!
This problem only appears when printing from Windows to the Samba-Share.
I also tested lpr/lpd printer spooling

Redhat 8 Samba+CUPS
Hi all. In the interest of using a more mainstream business distribution, I
changed my faithful file/printserver over to Redhat 8.0 from Debian Testing.
Now, my shared directories are working fine but printing is not working. I
can browse to the printer using net view or Network Neighborhood in Windows
or using smbclient -L in Linux but printing is not working. I've checked

Can't login into shares
I have had problems with Samba since the Debian upgraded samba to 3.0.23c, the
problem I had was that smbd refused to start. After reinstalling samba I
found the problem lay in the smb.conf the new install would start, but if I
used my old smb.conf (from my previous version of samba) it would not start
smbd.
So the point is now, samba is running I have added my shares to smb.conf, when

Can only login from Windows, when not a domain member
Hi,
I have set up Samba 3.0.1 to work as a Domain Member. Security is ADS.
"wbinfo -a User%Pass" works for the ADS users, winbind works as well.
"wbinfo -t" is ok as well.
When I try to connect to the computer from windows, it is only
successful, when I am not logged in as a member of the domain like
"domain\user" but logged in as a local user on the windows box

Terminal server login problem
Hi all,
I have a strange problem with the combination of Win2k3 and Samba. The
samba server is configured as a PDC, the terminal server as a member of
the domain. Logging in from the terminal server console with a domain
userid works; logging in from a terminal server session from the same
machine fails with the message: "The system can not log you on due to

win 98, freeze on login/shutdown
G'day,
I'm helping with an outback community technology centre, six
workstations and a Linux server running Samba. The six workstations
occasionally freeze during shutdown or login. I'm wondering how to
diagnose this, as I have very little experience with Windows. Is this a
Samba problem?
Symptom: clients freeze sometimes, mouse pointer won't move,
Control/Alt/Delete gives no

How many RAM Speex need??
Hi evryone )
My name is Vasily.
I am a software developer from Ukrane, and i am going to use Speex on
TMS320F28335 DSP-controller wich has only 68KB of RAM.
And I worry about this.
I can't find memory requirements in speex manual(only some about
optimization).
Can anyone tell me, how many RAM Speex can eat at 8kbs realtime
encoding and decoding with echo canceller and jitter
buffer enabled?

cups printing and user names from trusted domains
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Im currently running some tests for a samba/CUPS based print server.
The print server is a member of an NT domain and uses winbind to import
NT domain users. Users accessing the print server will be not from the
same domain but from trusted domains.
Everything basically seems to work, once you use sufficiently new
versions of cups and samba. (I'm on Debian

It is possible on the w2k-machines to install printer drivers from samba and to
print via samba to the cups server. Within the cups server all jobs have the
correct username. If I try to delete pending print jobs from w2k

in my current project, I have so far used a lot of very different plots. I am now trying to gain informatin with the help of parallel coordinate plots. Therefore, I use the function "parcoord" of the MASS package. What I would like to do, is to color let's say the points according to the first half of rows of a specific matrix/dataframe in a color different from

root ownership of print jobs

Solaris 9
I have reecently upgraded my Samba server to the above version and joined an
Active Directory domain. Since having achieved this I have been encountering
a strange problem.
On some of my printers the printing of banner pages is enabled. In some
instances when a user submits a print job it prints with root as the owner
on the banner page and not the user's who
