15 minute favor?
Anyone have 15 minutes on a development installation of ocfs 1.0.9-12 to
do me a favor? Follow these 8 steps and see if you have the same
problem I'm having? It doesn't look to me like a hardware issue but if
someone else does NOT have the same problem then I can rule ocfs out.
1. install ocfs-2.4.9-e-enterprise-1.0.9-12 and 1.0.9-12 tools
2. create a new filesystem
node1# mkfs.ocfs -b

Cannot delete directories
Running ocfs v 1.0.9-PROD12 on RHAS 2.1, kernel 2.4.9-e.25smp.
I have (what look to ls and rm) as empty directories. But when I try to
rmdir, returns "Directory not empty". This has gone through a reboot
(several actually). Any ideas what I can do?

Read only configuration.
Hi,
I currently I have a Samba share configured as follows:
[pub_fileshare]
comment = Public fileshare
path = /u02/pub
guest ok = Yes
writeable = Yes
There is a subfolder under /u02/pub called /u02/pub/expenses/hardware
that I need to make read only. How do I do this? I am new to using
Samba.
I configured the share /u02/pub/expenses/hardware using the
configuration below. This works as it is

Attempt to move a WXP client to another Samba domain.
We have successfully added a windows XP client to the domain on the test
network. We are able to logon to the domain, connect to the shares, etc.
all is as it should be.
We then tried to connect the XP client to the production network (same
version of samba, same smb.conf file).
No joy.
We remove the machine from the test network domain, by joining a false
workgroup on the client. Reboot the

Compiling issues on IRIX (run!)
Well, I can't get icecast to compile on IRIX, not a huge surprise to me,
but i'm working on it:
First problems, the configure script doesn't work well with IRIX in
general, so a bit of manual changes to it were required to force some
library locations and compiler flags for the ogg and vorbis tests.
(Mainly, $PREFIX/lib is not a safe assumption, as there are $PREFIX/lib,

OCFS error
Hi,
Before I describe the problem, I'll describe my environment. This is a
development environment built over 1.5 yrs ago:
* We have a 2 node Oracle RAC Cluster.
* built on two Dell PowerEdge 1850 Servers (Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.20GHz)
* OS is RHEL3 U3

/etc/rc.local and /etc/fstab
Upon system boot, is it ok to mount OCFS2 mounts from /etc/rc.local
rather than /etc/fstab ?
Are there any downsides to using rc.local that you are aware of?
Example /etc/rc.local script:
#!/bin/sh
#
# This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts.
# You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't
# want to do the full Sys V style init stuff.

ocfs and dbca
Hi all,
hoping someone has some insight on this issue.
I am working on a first install of RAC.
I have installed OCFS 1.0.9.4 (upgraded from 1.0.8 before installing the rest of the oracle software) on a 3 node RedHat AS 2.1 cluster. The kernel is 2.4.9-e.25.enterprise. Oracle software installed 9.2.0.4.
I fdisk'd the storage devices, mkfs.ocfs on the partitions, and mounted successfully on

Problem with Samba
Yes, another newbie asking for help. Please bear with me. I don't doubt my problem has a simple solution but it has me stumped.
I have a solaris server which carries some confidential financial information on it. I have been asked to install samba on it to share out a particular directory. They obviously want to restrict access to this information. We run a Windows 2003 domain as well.

[BUG] node 0 hangs until disk unmounted on node 1
I'm currently part of a project implementing Oracle eBusiness Suite 11i
on RAC. We're using a two-node cluster with shared storage, both nodes
are configured identical. Kernel is 2.4.9-e.27enterprise and ocfs is
1.0.9-11. I have checked and the shared storage can be accessed
directly without any problems from both nodes (/dev/sdx).
Curious if anyone has any suggestions or comments

Unable to Install Ocfs2 in Oracle Linux 5 Machine.
Hi,
I was trying to install OCFS 2 in my Oracle Linux 5 Machine.
I created a mount point for cluster file system:
# mkdir /u02
My Kernel version is :
