vfs readahead && windows server 2016/2019?
Hi Jeremy, thank you for your very helpful response. We're looking at a few more options. Would you have the time to provide some guidance on these, how helpful they may be? - *aio ** -> https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/current/man-html/smb.conf.5.html#AIOREADSIZE - *write cache* -> https://www.samba.org/samba/docs/current/man-html/smb.conf.5.html#WRITECACHESIZE -

vfs readahead && windows server 2016/2019?
Quick question... The docs for vfs readahead mention Windows Vista, but what about modern Windows versions? Windows Server 2016 or Windows Server 2019? PDF file not getting deleted in File Share Folder!
Hi We are facing an issue with Samba3.0.25b. Some pdf files are not getting deleted from Samba fileshare. The sequence to reproduce this bug is as follows. Copy 150 PDF files in a shared folder. Open the file share (FILE_SHARE) from Windows XP+SP2. 1. open 1.pdf file then close 1.pdf file 2. Delete the 1.pdf file. 3. now, open 2.pdf file then close 2.pdf file 4. Delete the 2.pdf file. Repeat

freeRADIUS + krb5 + samba + AD
Hi, We are using freeRADIUS 1.1.6. + samba 3.0.1 + krb5-1.3.2 talk to active-directory(win2k3). Followed by: http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO Now it can work. But there are multiple domains in active-directory. Can samba or krb5 support mutiple domains? How to configure krb5.conf and smb.conf can let it support multiple domains?

Nagging performance issues with Vista
Hi All, I've got some performance issues with Samba and Vista that I just can't seem to figure out. Googling and fiddling has all been in vain up until now, so I'm not sure what I can do other than wait for Samba 4, but maybe someone here can find something I've missed. First off, the server is an Athlon 64 1.8GHz running Gentoo 2006.1, tested with both Samba 3.0.24 and

[nbdkit PATCH 3/4] filters: Utilize ACQUIRE_LOCK_FOR_CURRENT_SCOPE
Now that cleanup.h is in common code, we can use it in our filters where it makes sense. Many uses of pthread_mutex_unlock() are not function-wide, and over small enough snippets of code as to be easier to read when left as-is; but when the scope is indeed function-wide or across multiple exit paths, it is nicer to use the macro for automatic unlock.
