Changing winbind's user settings of an AD-User
Hi, I set up a Win2k3 AD and joined Samba 3.0.24 sucessfully. "getent passwd" lists all Linux and AD users correctly. [...] "UIB+knieschewski:*:10000:10000:Sebastian Knieschewski:/home/UIB/knieschewski:/bin/bash" Now I want to change the home directory of some users. Is there any way to do this??? I expected the home-dir entries to be stored in the AD, but there isn't

File/dir user permissions on Samba fileserver in DC
OK, use this smb.conf. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING, DO NOT ADD ANYTHING. This is based on what you have posted. If WG isn't your workgroup, change it to your actual workgroup If WG.LOCAL isn't your realm, change it to your actual realm NOTE: if '.local' is your TLD, then turn off Avahi if it is running. [global] workgroup = WG security = ADS realm = WG.LOCAL

Help with Data Transformation
Greetings, I am new to R and am having trouble with parsing a file with the following characteristics: * Individual results for a single sample are written to multiple lines. * First 16 columns are constant from sample to sample. * Remaining 10 need to be matched up (cross-tabbed?) o (the exact contents for the remaining 10 vary from sample to sample, as indicated in

You still do not seem to have set up the smb.conf correctly, if you are having problems following the wiki, please say so and if possible give examples.

Help with accessing elements of a list
Hi, As part of the analysis of a longitudinal study, I have a list, called wg, on R 1.3.1 for windows created as follows - wg <- by(xx, xx$mrn, function(xx) lm(xx$maternal.wt ~ xx$gestation, data=xx)) xx is a data.frame, and so wg contains the results of 293 linear regressions, as lm objects. Now what I want is to extract the 293 intercepts and regression coefficients as a vector, and

[LLVMdev] [llvm-lab-wg] FNT testers reporting success even though they failed
This issue is back: FNT bots are reporting success in spite of tests failing, and the "report" text is empty again. Did someone change something? Ciao, Duncan. Help with Data Transformation - RESOLVED
Hi Dennis, SOLVED!!! My thanks to both you, John, and others who chimed in. Took a little more digging before finally working, but it is working! Here's a little more of what I did and the ultimate resolutions: I installed the reshape2 library from CRAN. Executed > (.packages()) [1] "reshape2" "stats" "graphics" "grDevices"

Access to Windows 2016 server works with IP but not with netbios name
Hi, When I initially tested the "getent passwd testuser01" I got nothing back. I then did: "getent passwd "wg\testuser01"" and got the entry. A "troubleshooting" wiki I was reading suggested adding: "winbind use default domain = yes" to fix that. I added that and was then able to lookup the user without needing the "wg\". In looking at

[LLVMdev] [llvm-lab-wg] FNT testers reporting success even though they failed
Hello everyone, It might make sense to start from rebooting the buildmaster, just to make sure everything is all right on this end. Yesterday I have tried to apply the latest changes from zorg and some of them are broken. Theoretically, checkconfig shouldn't affect the working instance, but the reality could be different... I planned to rollback to the last known-to-be-good revision and

Samba 3.2.7 and XP authentication error
List, Long and confusing message follows... I'm facing a frustrating problem. XP clients can use resoures on the samba server by IP-address, but not by name. So, "net view \\servername" gives "access denied" but "net view \\ipaddress" gives list of shared resources. Samba server (3.2.7 sernet rpm) is a member server in W2003 domain. I emphasise that with

Access to Windows 2016 server works with IP but not with netbios name
Do the "getent passwd" and "getent group" commands show the domain users? I would - at least for testing - skip the "valid users" and "write list" options . I believe that file system level security is sufficient. I think the "wins support" line means this machine is a WINS server. (the "wins server" option would tell the machine

problem with ggplot2 boxplot, groups and facets
I have a following problem: The call qplot(wg, v.realtime, data=df.best.medians$gv1, colour=sp, geom="boxplot") works nice: for each value of the wg factor I get two box-plots (two levels in the sp factor) in different colours, side-by-side, centered at the wg x-axis. However, I want to separate the data belonging to different levels of the n factor, so I add the facets option:

Issue with pam_winbind for MS AD authentication and module options
Hello! I've configured samba with winbind and pam_winbind module to authenticate users that connect to my linux box against MS AD. Works like a charm. If a user exists both in AD and locally, login should assume local users. Again, it works pretty well (It seems at least with my current config). If my AD server goes down for any reason, local users should be able to login. For example, root
