Transfer-encoding: gzip
Hello! What is the simplest way to make merb respond to the client sending Accept-Encoding: gzip? Just checking if it exists, otherwise I''ll implement it myself. Regards, Magnus

Is there a thread safe ActiveRecord replacement?
I''m using merb as an application server backend for a client application, the goal is to be able to handle thousands of parallell sessions (not parallell requests). It will use sendfile to send files. The controller uses an singleton that saves sessions in a hash that is memory resident cross requests, but isn''t persistent otherwise. I''m using ActiveRecord since there

(no subject)
Dear All! (As I wrote earlier) I'm working on removing an ancient (3.2.5) SaMBa member server from an Active Directory domain, and replacing it with SaMBa 4.16.4 running on AlmaLinux 9. The domain controllers are Windows servers, and the old SaMBa is joined to the domain with "security = domain" type of security (the old NT4 type). I'm afraid once I remove the old server from

samba ldap domain member server with cifs and nfs
Hi samba lists, we have a samba-ldap domain running on a debian squeeze (samba 3.5.6)server (pdc and bdc). I try to configure a domain member server on an other debian squeeze that will serve as cifs and nfs server. My Debian server member use winbind (on ldap) for mapping the users windows sid to the unix uid. The users mapping is write in the the ldap directory : ou=idmap,dc=exemple,dc=com

"Use R" -- term and logo copyright?
Dear list, I would like to start some R workshops at King's College London, and to do so, I would like to use the "Use R!" logo at http://www.agrocampus-ouest.fr/math/useR-2009//useR%21%202008_fichiers/useR-middle.png Since it seems to be difficult to get a shell account at KCL, I also went ahead and registered use-r.org.uk and am starting to put together a website at

WG: [Ocfs-users] Compiling OCFS 1.0.13 on kernel 2.6.8?
Sorry for cross posting, but I somehow came to think that this question might possibly be more suitable in this mailinglist. I am currently fiddeling around with Fedora Core 2. Does anyone of you have any pointers on where to start reading to compile OCFS 1.0.13 on a 2.6.8 kernel? Is it at all possible? mount.cifs and UID mapping
Hi! I have mounted samba disk with mount.cifs (smbmount has problems with codepage [Czech] - I can't use it). How do I map the server UID/GID to client UID/GID? (I can't have the same UIDs/GIDs on all computers.) Classic mount parameters uid/gid can't be used if "CIFS Unix extensions" are used on Samba server. Google has not answered my questions (maybe I asked wrong).

Perl wrapper for libvorbisfile or stuff
Hey guys, I wrote to this list previously, saying I needed a perl module to do Ogg Vorbis tag reading / writing. People pretty much pointed me to the Ogg::Vorbis module that wrapped around libvorbisfile and I should extend that to writing streams, not only reading them. Well, awright, I thought, let's do it. Problem is, though: The download links on freshmeat are all broken and I don't

Dovecot permission denied errors on NFS after upgrade to 2.2.17
Hi Jochen, the ID has not changed, in addition the "permission denied" error is random, most of the time Dovecot works well. How can I check the mappings NFS uses? After the Debian upgrade I was using these NFS mount options: rw,user,rsize=8192,wsize=8192,timeo=30,intr Now trying to fix the problem I set "defaults" mount option, but nothing has changed. Thanks On
