NEW Mcafee problem, samba share
I am having this issue, running Fedora Core 2. None of my clients can access the mapped Samba drives from within MS Office applications like Outlook 2000 and Word. Running both XP and 2K. Waiting on McAfee to get back with me. Any ideas or experience you folks have that might be useful here? Dan On Tue, March 15, 2005 12:30 pm, Jeremy Allison said: > On Tue, Mar 15, 2005 at 10:04:40AM

Here's the problem as I know so far. Windows Explorer works fine all drives. SolidWorks cannot access the root of any samba drive. FrontPage cannot access the root of any samba drive. Uninstall mcafee,

McAfee 8 incompatible with Samba
I've parsed a whole year's worth of postings in this group and didn't find any previous reference to the problem. Since I've updated McAfee to version 8 many applications which open file chooser dialogs report "Access denied" when trying to open a Samba share, including the users's own home directory. At installation one can choose to exclude some apps from the

Can't create files using Mac OSX Client against Sambaserver on Debian Linux
Well, after some more poking around, I discovered that this problem was not neccessarily a simple matter of getting Samba properly configured. For the benefit of the list, I've posted the following URL which takes you to a Debian bug report which starts out with a post describing the exact problem I'm seeing. As it turns out, it may have more to do with a problem with file locking
