Help with SOM membership
Hi all, I originally posted this to the bioconductor group, but maybe it's better suited to the r-help... I'm using som() to partition samples of gene expression data into clusters. The point is to classify control vs. experimental cases (sample clustering). The original matrix was 22283 x 8. The 8 samples have 4 controls and 4 experimentals. I transposed the matrix so that its dim

blastwave.rb patch
The original blastwave.rb would store "no pkg-get in /usr/sbin /usr/ bin" into @@pkgget if pkg-get is not found in the PATH. The patch below modifies blastwave.rb to store the first matching binary in the user''s PATH, or if not found, check the default location (puppetd''s PATH may not be sane) and if still not present and executable, correctly store as nil.

3D plot, rotatable and with adjustable symbols
Hi all, I've tried to make a 3D plot, but have run into some problems. I'd like to have a plot that I can rotate interactively using the mouse, which is possible using the plots3d {R.basic}. However, I would like to change the symbols used as the points, but there's no pch in plot3d(). If I use the Scatterplot3d package, I'm able to change this, but not able to rotate

Samba update
Hi, I have just taken over the administration of our Samba Fileserver. Unfortantly, my colleage has not done his homework and sadly forgot keep the Samba version up-to-date. So, the first step for me would be to update from our current version 3.0.23c (SuSe rpms) to the most recent. Now I worry about some changes that could cause problems with my current configuration file. As I can not shutdown

avoid multiple render per action
Hello, I have a hash that contains categories, and each category ID is a hash of subcategories. What i want to do is dynamically load that hash, loop thru it, for each category , subcat run a query against the DB, and render a partial. The issue is i put the render:partial in a for loop but you can only render once per action. What is the best way to loop thru all my categories without a

Setting empty fields with in_place_editor_field
Hi all! Playing around with in_place_editor_field, I found that when you set a field to be empty, you can''t edit it at all anymore after that. Am I doing something wrong or is this the way it is intended to be? If so, is there any way around that behaviour? Is it just styling? Best regards, Raphael -- Posted via http://www.ruby-forum.com/.

applicationmap and ChannelRedirect
Hi, I'm struggling with a feature in my home phone setup. I have several phones using both SIP and SCCP. What I try to do is to create a dynamic feature that works similar to the blindxfer feature built into Asterisk. What I want is the possibility for the called part to push a number sequence (for example *#) to redirect the callee to a fixed extension or (for example *123#) to redirect the

PCA with tow response variables
Hi all, I'm new to PCA in R, so this might be a basical thing, but I cannot find anything on the net about it. I need to make a PCA plot with two response variables (df$resp1 and df$resp2) against eight metabolites (df$met1, df$met2, ...) and I don't have a clue how to do... and I've only used the simplest PCAs before, like this: pcaObj=prcomp(t(df[idx, c(40:47)]))

scp doesn't work with large (>2GB) files
Hi, A bug I've had reported is that scp doesn't work with large files (Debian bug number 106809). The problem seems to be scp.c:504: if ((fd = open(name, O_RDONLY, 0)) < 0) Is there some reason why making that if ((fd = open(name, O_RDONLY|O_LARGEFILE, 0)) < 0) would break things? It seems a simple fix to me... Thanks, Matthew -- "At least you know where you are

Auth error in log
Hi, I have a setup with Dovecot handling a few virtual domains delivering mails to both local Unix account mailboxes and seperate mailboxes for virtual users defined in a MySQL database. A quick overview of the configuration shows two passdb definitions: auth default { mechanisms = plain login passdb pam { args = dovecot } passdb sql { args = /etc/dovecot/dovecot-sql.conf }

Automatization of non-linear regression
Hi everybody, I'm using the method described here to make a linear regression: http://www.apsnet.org/education/advancedplantpath/topics/Rmodules/Doc1/05_Nonlinear_regression.html > ## Input the data that include the variables time, plant ID, and severity > time <- c(seq(0,10),seq(0,10),seq(0,10)) > plant <- c(rep(1,11),rep(2,11),rep(3,11)) > > ## Severity

offline folders problem with W2k SP2
Hi, had samba 2.1.?? version and Win2k running for some time and offline folders worked just fine. But recently I installed SP2 on Win2k and did a samba upgrade to 2.2.3 and now the offline folders do not work any more. Everything is fine until I go offline, */CSC/ contains my offline files and everything seems fine, but when being offline I always get access denied messages when accessing

Polycom IP 500 Voicemail
Hello All, I have some Polycom IP 500 phones that I would like to have configured for direct dialing to our voice mail system. So far I have been unable to get the hard button labeled Voice Mail to connect to Asterisk without first passing through the message center prompts. Re: SpanDSP TXFax and multipage faxes problems
Hi ! Does anyone managed to send multipage faxes (in single TIFF file) with app_txfax from spandsp package (i'm using 0.0.2pre18, libtiff 3.7.1)? If so, I'm interested in format of TIFF file that has been sent sent succesfully (tiffinfo <fax-filename>). Samba 2.0.7 configure-script disfunction.
If I do this on a Solaris 8, x86: tar xzf samba-2.0.7.tar.gz cd samba-2.0.7 mkdir OBJ/somedir cd OBJ/somedir ../../configure --prefix=/usr/someplace and then: make it doesn't mkdir "bin" for me, making it compile all the way until it is about to link bin/smbd. The linker gives me a message about not being able to find "bin/smbd" which is kind of misleading. 8-( Anyway,

problem creating a systemd service
Hello! Icecast behaves oddly for me in debian testing, somehow the permissions on my log file directory was set to root:adm if I remember things right. Also there was no systemd service starting when I tried to start from /etc/init.d, somehow init services refer to systemd services nowadays whether they exist or not. I tried to create a systemd service looking like this: [Unit]
