Nmbd crash with failure to open wins.tdb
Hello, I've found this issue reported only once before but no real answer was provided/found. I am trying to migrate from an old 2.0.7 server, but the bundled install 3.0.24 on FC6 is giving me major pain. Putting aside the actual configuration and user migration which I need to figure out, the problem is that nmbd refuses to start with the following errors in the log: [2007/02/26 14:05:26,

Hi, Does someone know a document which explains the TDB structure. functionalites, and format of the TDB files etc. I need to understand why some of the TDBs like messages.tdb, unexpected.tdb, brlock if not read_only, locking.tdb, session.tdb, wins.tdb are called with TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST tdb flags. Why some TDBs are opend with O_RDWR|O_CREAT flags viz. gencache.tdb, group_mapping.tdb,

PDC -> BDC Question
Hi Everyone, I was wondering I am setting up a BDC at another physically separate location on a different subnet, and I am currently working on what files I need to have copied between the computers and which need to be made on each server. The specific question I am dealing with is what TDB files I need to replicate filesystems between the two servers. Below is a list of what the files I

WG: PDC -> BDC Question
Hello Nick, I do not think it is possible to just copy files like this from one to the other samba. You can do the copy job with rsync or scp. I made a samba PDC and BDC with ldap master ldap slave. So on both servers are the same users Groups etc. Both machines must have the same SID Greetings Daniel -----Urspr?ngliche Nachricht----- Von: samba-bounces+mueller=tropenklinik.de@lists.samba.org

So no conversion from group_mapping.ldb to group_mapping.tdb?
Greetings, I recently upgraded an AD member server from Samba 3.5.15 to Samba 3.6.9 and found that I had lost all the existing local group mappings. I see that the group mapping file has gone from group_mapping.ldb to group_mapping.tdb. I asked on this list as well as searching the web, Samba documentation (which still seems focused on version 3.5), and Samba Wiki and found nothing on a

First 8 bytes of the value of keys in group_mapping.tdb
I'm trying to build a hack to add/modify a groupmap entry in the group_mapping.tdb file by hand. What I'd like to do is to manually perform something like this: echo -e "open group_mapping.tdb\ninsert my_key my_value\nq" | tdbtool In this attempt, I expect to add a new group map entry in the tdb file. The key I'm using is the same as samba uses: domain_group/SID. I'm

CTDB Debug Help
Hello, I've got a two node CTDB/Samba cluster that I'm having trouble with trying to add back a node after having to do an OS reload on it. The servers are running CTDB 2.5.1 and Samba 4.1.4 on AIX 7.1 TL2. The Samba CTDB databases and Samba service work fine from the node that was not reloaded. The rebuilt node is failing to re-add itself to the cluster. I'm looking for
