Porting R example datasets to GNU Octave
Hi, R Developers, I'm interested in porting the R example datasets package to GNU Octave and Matlab. Would you have objections to my doing so? This would involve transforming the example data and metadata into a format that Octave understands, and porting all of the datasets' Example code pieces to Octave M-code. (This would require no work on your part; it'd be my project.) I think

[OT] building src rpm on RHEL5 using mock https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=680144
Does anyone have experience using mock on RHEL5 with the RHN? I use mock easily on Centos, I get errors like /bin/sh not found, useradd not found build failed? messages from it on RHEL w/ RHN. Any suggestions on where to start looking. -Jason Pyeron -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- - - - Jason

smbd (3.0.20pre2) crashes at startup, was: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2916
Hi all, at first glance, samba3.20.pre2 seemed to crash at startup, so I posted a bug-report at bugzilla (https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2916). After I installed this version in a seperate directory, so it wouldn't conflict with any existing *.tdb, but still use the same ldap-directory and the same smb.conf, it now starts. I assume that I have some .tdb-file or something alike,

Manager API - standardization?
Hi all, I know I'm probably stirring up a hornet's nest with this question/comment but I've spent the last few days working on a PHP-based class for the manager interface as we're preparing for a pretty big upgrade at our call center and I'm revamping all of the management apps I've written. I can connect to the manager interface and send query strings back and forth all

Polycom 500, asterisk user opinions?
Hi all, I'm researching IP phones for a new office setup. We will need 30 phones. I have read the wiki and the polycom site for the phones, but I still had some questions about real world experience with these phones. -According to the documentation, the 500 series ( and 600, according to a polycom rep ) have built in hubs. Has anybody noticed performance issues in this setup, when

OT: Setting a CentOS to gateway a private IP address
This is mildly off topic since it has more to do with TCP/IP networking than with CentOS per se. However, at the risk of ruffling a few feathers I would like some advice on how to resolve the following routing problem: Given: dual homed host running CentOS-5.2 with eth0 = 2xx.yyy.zzz.23 eth1 = 192.168.219.1 and a Cisco gateway at 2xx.1xx.y7y.1 with the following networks: interface

Manager Originate without phone off hook?
I'm trying to keep the DND status of my Snom phones and the astdb in line but I'm stuck on integrating my gui DND button which talks to * using the manager interface (actually it uses Astmanproxy as the gui host is on a different network to asterisk and can't see the Snom's across the network). All's working fine in my Dialplan; when someone dials the code for DND-on or

[LLVMdev] clang++ svn trunk crash http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=12862
I did log it as a bug but thought I'd mention it here: http://llvm.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=12862 This is from the ITK project (www.itk.org) -- well, actually the version of GDCM2 incorporated into ITK. I do regular builds using the SVN Trunk version of CLang of our largish C++ software suite for image processing, which includes building several prerequisite libraries. Today I updated

Quoth Steve Murphy... >Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2009 08:51:03 -0700 > >QUESTIONS: > >Which of the two would you see being useful to you? Obvious comment really but given LEG based CDR, one can determine the 'Simple' data but you can't work it the other way. I'd therefore find LEG based CDR more useful as the granularity (time on Hold, in Queue, Waiting on pre-xfer ring
