Hello,
I am trying to make a small server around the team that we experiment
together. I gave permission to read to all users and i gave permissions to
write only to some of them, dependent on the folder.
Folders are in second HD that is auto mounted at boot through fstab.
All folders and sub folders have permission to read and write changed to
user , group , other.

freeRADIUS + krb5 + samba + AD
Hi,
We are using freeRADIUS 1.1.6. + samba 3.0.1 + krb5-1.3.2 talk to active-directory(win2k3).
Followed by: http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO
Now it can work.
But there are multiple domains in active-directory.
Can samba or krb5 support mutiple domains?
How to configure krb5.conf and smb.conf can let it support multiple domains?

smbclient - session setup failed: NT_STATUS_UNSUCCESSFUL
I have been using Samba for years and am at my wits end with this problem.
I have 3.0.0beta1-1 installed (actually, it's the latest Debian unstable
package). I just upgraded it - it was working fine yesterday.
I have rejoined my machine to the domain (did this by creating the account
using NT4's Server Manager to add it and then
net rpc join CCSU -U dnewcomb%password -W CCSU

PPPoE + Masquedate + Shorewall
Hi,
I have been a shorewall user for a long time now, and it has been
working flawlessly. I have now changed ISP and my new DSL connection is
PPPoE.
My setup is as follows:
internet <--------> 3com812 Officeconnect (bridge mode) <----> eth0
<-------> linux box <----> eth1, eth2, eth3, eth4 <---> other internal
networks
Things are working fine, but the link is

User not privileged to join domain.
Hello
I'm running the samba-3.0 alpha18 (I know it's alpha) but I think this has something to do with my configuration (see below).
When I try to join my domain from a computer that has never been on the domain before it gives an error about unprivileged user. I use root/sauron as the admin users with the correct passwords.

"no such file or directory" error
I have an smb service set up on a box on my home network, and it
currently works fine with the mp3 folder I share out accross the lan.
However, I recently decided to add a share for my web site so i could
make site updates/changes from any other box in the house rather than
having to go to the server to make content changes.
The relevant bita of my smb.conf file look like this:

SRR qdisc
Hi all,
I wrote new qdisc SRR (Simple Round Robin). This is just another reimplementation
of round robin packets distributions. I''m not using SQF/ESFQ source code and
algorithms
in this scheduler. The main goal of this work is not given multistream download
managers
give all bandwidth resource.
Please testing this: http://mordor.strace.net/sched-srr/

DNAT issue
Hi,
Sorry, not an experienced shorewall user, this is my first basic setup.
This starts to drive me crazy.
I wanted to use DNAT to forward port 33890 to an internal machine (windows)
port 3389. To reach my workstation when I''m not home.
In my rules :
DNAT:debug net loc:192.168.0.11:3389 tcp 33890 -
pub.lic.ip.add
#SECTION BLACKLIST
#well known port scans
DROP net

samba 3.0.24 + openldap + solaris won't start up
I have been planning for some time to change our systems over to
openldap. This morning was that time and for the most part things
went as well as expected. Except for samba.
my test systems worked. I moved things to the production server and
it won't start up. As far as I can tell I have done it all the same
(save the SID, etc) but smbd won't start.
I have been trying to
