APC USB UPS vs FreeBSD 6.x
Hi,
I have a customer who just bought an APC Back-UPS XS 1300 LCD and I
thought I'd try the latest NUT with it (on an old-ish FreeBSD 6.x
system).
It sees the UPS but I can't actually query it for data, in the
usbhid-ups debug output I see..
30.840512 HIDGetEvents: failed to buffer report: Result too large
30.840600 Got -34 HID objects...

I am looking at the newhid driver for this Pulsar EXtreme here but it gives
odd results, for example there is no status variable :)

Password syncing
Hi all,
Does anyone have a working password syncing setup (where changing the password in Windows will change the unix password) with Samba 3.6?
Thanks.

Liebert ESP-II protocol
Hi,
I saw your email here
http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/nut-upsdev/2005-October/000243.html
about the Liebert UPS protocol and I was wondering if it actually got
in the NUT tree?
I had a look in the 2.2.2 tree but I can only find the closed contact
stuff :(

Not that I can see :(
What would log it?
I could try running the driver with debugging and see if that shows anything of

Resetting replace battery status on Pulsar 1500
Hi,
I have a FreeBSD 9.2 system with NUT 2.6.5 (installed via the ports tree) with an MGE Pulsar 1500 connected. A while ago it complained it needed the battery replaced and it was finally replaced last week, however I can't find out how to reset the flag in NUT.
I've looked in upsc, upsrw and upscmd but none seem to have a suitable option.
The UPS is connected via RS232 and upsc output

Can't use offline files in Windows 2000 properly
Hi,
I have Samba 2.2.3a running on a FreeBSD 4.8-STABLE system and a Windows 2000
Pro laptop.
I am trying to use the offline files feature in windows to keep offline copies
of some documents but it doesn't appear to play nicely with Samba :(
I setup some documents to sync and it appears to copy them over, and says it
was successful, but after I go offline they are 0 bytes long and in the

Non-audio applications
Hi,
I work for a company which makes meteor and wind radar
(http://www.gsoft.com.au).
On occasion (ie during meteor showers such as the Leonids) we configure
the system to save raw data as it comes out of the acquisition system,
the data rate for this varies (depends on acquisition parameters and
number of coherent integrations etc), but usually it is around
600kb/sec.
The data consists of 16

Hi,
I am trying to create a hybrid ISO image for FreeBSD 9.2 using syslinux 6.01 and isohybrid.pl I found at http://www.overclockix.com/sources/isohybrid.pl (I know there is a C version in syslinux but I haven't been able to build it yet due to the UUID library being different to the one in FreeBSD).
According to the wiki mboot.c32 can boot FreeBSD, however I haven't been able to get it

MGE Comet EX 11 RT frequency display (cosmetic)
Hi everyone,
We just got an MGE Comet EX 11 RT with extra battery (all 250kg of it..) and I
have talked to it with NUT. One thing I see is the frequency..
input.frequency: 500
output.frequency: 500
It appears to be in tenths of a Hz vs Hz as I see on a Pulsar Extreme.
I'm using NUT 2.0.3 on FreeBSD 6.1
Thanks.

mge-shut lowbatt config param
Hi,
We have been testing an MGE Pulsar M 3000 and found that the lowbatt
doesn't appear to do much. You can see it in the output of upsc but
battery.charge.low is still the default.
Setting battery.charge.low with upsrw does seem to 'stick' though so I
we can use that.
Mostly I'm wondering what the driver param is for :)

UPS restart delay
Hi,
I have an Eaton/MGE EX 11 RT UPS (uses the mge-shut driver) and while I was testing it I found that it would turn back on straight after power was restored.
I had a look but I couldn't find a setting which would let me tell it to charge to (say) 50% before turning the load back on.
Does anyone know if this is possible? A setting like this would provide some hysteresis for successive

msdosfs vs 250Gb hard disk
I am attempting to utilise a 250Gb Maxtor external Firewire drive. To
obtain maximum portability I would prefer to format it as FAT32 (it comes
formatted that way) - that way Windows, Linux and FreeBSD machines can
access it.
Unfortunately FreeBSD doesn't grok really large FAT32 partitions :( When I
attempt to mount it, I get ->
mountmsdosfs(): disk too big, sorry
The code in question..
