Using R with Netezza
We've recently installed a Netezza server and I am trying to integrate the R GUI with this server and run functions using the server itself. I am able to successfully connect to the server, but cannot get any of the Netezza-specific R functions to work that exist in the package called "nza". Specifically I am trying to start with a simple function from this package, for example

Problem with Linux x86_64 RODBC and Netezza (PR#13889)
Full_Name: Kenneth Cater Version: 2.9.1 OS: Linux x86_64 Submission from: (NULL) (171.159.192.10) It appears that R closes my connection to the Netezza device before the Netezza has completed its return of data, below are two files clean_test.log which tracks the systems call made when running the test.r file, and clean_test.out which is the output generated when test.r is executed. sqlSave writes, but only for sqlFetch
I've been having some issues with sqlSave, and I think I've found an clue that may identify the problem. In the code at http://pastebin.com/vTAKt4bL<http://pastebin.com/W6UGKep9>, I connect to a Netezza instance, make a simple table, and query it. Despite sqlSave succeeding without error, sqlQuery tells me the table doesn't exist. Also, when I query the database outside of R, I

windowing
Is there a package or a command that does window aggregation like select sum(col1) over (partition by col2, col3 order by col4 rows between unbounded preceding and current row) as sum1 from table1 ; the above is Netezza syntax, but Postgre has same capability. ssh 2.1.1p1 can't connect; ssh 1.2.3 can
My ISP supports connections via ssh. I was using OpenSSH 1.2.3 (portable) on Solaris 2.5.1 (with EGD), and I could connect to my ISP just fine. They're using the proprietary sshd version 1.2.26 as far as I can tell. A connect session looks like: $ ssh-1.2.3 -v -l foobar xx.xx.xx.xx SSH Version OpenSSH-1.2.3, protocol version 1.5. Compiled with SSL. debug: ssh_connect: getuid 390

getrusage() privileged on Solaris 2.5.1
The builtin entropy gathering code in OpenSSH 2.1.1p1 tries to use getrusage() if it's available. This function is available on Solaris 2.5.1, but you must have root permissions to run it. However, configure.in uses only AC_CHECK_FUNCS() to look for getrusage, and this only tests for a successful link. For this function you need to do a more thorough check and actually try to run a test

md5 fail on large file
Hello everybody. I'm experimenting this problem with samba 3.0.2a and linux 2.4.25 with ReiserFS. When I copy (put) a large file (5GB) from a Windows NT terminal server sp6a to the samba-linux box, the md5sum is different between the two file. Files size are identical. I'm using this command to copy these files from windows to samba: xcopy f:\ \\mimas\backup\exchange /e /c /h /r I have

Certificates and hostnames
So, I just looked into how I handle this internally. By default, the server uses the hostname contained in the HTTP request. If this name disagrees with the hostname in the certificate, then the certificate name is used. This is the hostname passed to all XMLRPC calls. Most XMLRPC calls don''t include facts, so I can''t use the facter-derived hostname except for in the

groups of hostnames
Hello, I am using shorewall for about a day now :) and so far so good (it looks like a really great software). I have a question though I could not answer from the docs. I have a large set of hosts which will be used to limit access to SSH. Is there a way to ''group'' these under an alias and use it afterwards for setting rules? I thought about using an action.something for

/etc/hosts not resolving hostnames
I have modified /etc/hosts file with IP address and hostname entries. However, host command is returning 'Host vhost1.example.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)'. Also, apache is returning error on start as '[error] (EAI 2)Name or service not known: Could not resolve host name vhost1.example.com-- ignoring!' . The ssh worked fine and resolved the hostname correctly (ssh from same system to
