winbindd: Exceeding 200 client connections, no idle connection found
Hello! This is my first email to the Samba mailing list :) We have been having an issue on our servers where the winbind service begins to utilize 100%~ CPU and logs the following error: *winbindd: Exceeding 200 client connections, no idle connection found* We have been running Samba *3.6.3-0.52.5*, however when originally investigating the problem, it was found that *3.6.3-0.58.1* included a

Exceeding 200 client connections - samba 3.5.4 and squid
Hi, We have a central pair of squid proxy servers running Samba Version 3.5.4-0.83.el5_7.2, on CentOS 5.4, which are using NTLM authentication for a number of trusted domains over WAN connections (all 100Mbit fibre links, so shouldn't be considered slow). Recently we've noticed that the winbind connections are exceeding the default 200, as below, [2013/04/16 10:19:15.510056, 0]

Caching authentication request
Hi, I've got some problem with samba (v3.0.22) on a linux (RedHat 4 ES) running squid (2.5Stable6). My server has joined a WIndows Domain. My problem is that from time to time, and usually on rush hour, Squid runs out of authentication process and at the same time, winbind have also no more authentication process free (winbindd: Exceeding 200 client connections, no idle connection found).

winbindd requests failing with NT_STATUS_PIPE_BROKEN
Hi Samba experts, I am currently investigating an issue with a bigger winbindd installation which causes all following winbindd requests to fail until winbindd is restarted. We use a slightly patched version of winbindd based on Samba 3.5.8. In the used setup the winbindd is joined to an AD domain and is quite busy with answering winbindd requests of type PAM_AUTH_CRAP, LOOKUPNAME, GETUSERSIDS,

smbd version 3.0.25b-0.4E.5 Our server was functioning very well for several months. Our SAN crapped out and the LUN the server was using was gone. Everything is back up except SAMBA is acting crazy. winbindd issues on member server
Hi there After having posted a while ago about the trouble I had with 3.0.23 I gave it another try with 3.0.23d I installed the current version on our samba PDC and BDC while the member server was still running 3.0.22. This setup has worked for a couple of weeks with no issues. I then upgraded the member server two days ago to 3.0.23d and after serveral hours I could not connect via ssh to

member server 3.0.23c drives me nuts
Hello everybody First of all thanks to the developer team in providing the samba suite. I have been running samba servers for serveral years now but 3.0.23c just drives me nuts. I have a PDC and BDC running samba 3.0.23c with openldap as backend and also a samba member server trying to run 2.0.23c. The member server is the primary file server so I can't play with it all that much. The

Everything is working, including GPO, although we are still adapting to the new way of working, after all AD domains is quite different from NT domains. But I have experienced strange problems with the winbindd, which has happened at least 3 times. Suddenly users can no longer authenticate, and

Samba AD - Issue with winbindd: Could not write result
Thanks Rowland for response. OK, setup the "log level = 10". I noticed something today. I have to restart the samba server 2 times. In the second restart I did a named restart too. Maybe could be something related to communication to named? I did the named.conf conforming the wiki, adding these 2 lines: options { .... # DNS dynamic updates via kerberos tkey-gssapi-keytab
