Local groups invisible (ldapsam & 3.0.23b, 3.0.23c)
Hello all, I'm running samba3 as domain controller. I have upgraded samba from 3.0.22 to 3.0.23b and faced an issue with groups display: samba does not see any groups. "net rpc group -U Administrator" returns empty set. usrmgr.exe does not show any groups also. Groups are present in ldap, nss_ldap works fine: # id asv uid=2005(asv) gid=513(Domain Users) groups=513(Domain Users),

FC5. Samba 3.0.23a Win XP Pro SP2. Cannot logon from XP to samba on Fedora
Hello, I have just performed a yum update on my Fedora 5 machine, which I think included a samba update, and I cannot connect from WinXP to the shares defined on Fedora. When I select the samba server from WIndowsXP, a dialog box prompts for the userid and password. When userid and password are entered the dialog box just redisplays and I am not logged on, no matter how many time I try. I

User Group SID behavior has changed from 21b to 23c
I am using LDAP as my backend. I have 6 PDC's running Samba 3.0.21b, each domain has a different SID. I store all user, groups, and machine accounts in one LDAP database. So that when I create a user once, all domains can see the user. This keeps me from having to create a user account on each domain for cross domain file sharing. The behavior for Domains running Samba 3.0.21b is a follows.

net ads info: failed to get server's current time
Hi all, We're having issues with Samba at work. I've searched a bit and the only thing that have caught my eye is this: when I run the 'net ads info' command on our DC --we have a Debian on which samba4 is installed and configured as a AD DC-- I have the message "Failed to get server's current time!", and "Server time: Thu, 01 Jan 1970 01:00:00 CET". Re: samba 3.0.23a Cannot join network
I had the same problem after upgrading to 3.0.23a. I have one samba PDC running a basic setup back to the smbpasswd file, and one that runs OpenLDAP. The former did exactly as yours, and I ended up rolling back to version 3.0.23. On the latter, the smb process refused to run, reporting that it could not contact the database. I ended up having to remove all the database files and reinstall

I have no "server services" line in my smb.conf and "net ads info" is working well using DC running Samba 4.3.1 on Centos 7. Did you tried without "server services" line? Samba 3.0.23c PANIC with LDAP
Hello again, Here is description of my first problem I encountered during setting up samba 3.0.23c and LDAP 2.3.28. Linux box is one of intel server platforms and debian etch (unstable) on board. Debian has its own ldap libraries in /usr/ldap.... and there are more then one but with different version ldap files. Despite of these I always compile almost everything from sources so this time I
