Differences between Samba and Windows 2000 with respect to printer driver uploading.
I have discovered a difference between Samba and Windows which I think is of interest to the Samba team as it prevents printer driver from being uploaded correctly. I would appreciate some comment on this subject please. The difference is that following uploading of the dlls to the Windows 2000 server the driver is loaded on the Server itself and the driver recieves notification of the fact by a

Uploading Printer Driver Files
Hi, I'm close to succeeding in uploading new drivers but it just won't work. I'm running v2.2.1a on a sun box and w2k on the client. - In my conf file, I've defined a print$ share, an entry in printcap and put in a definition of the printer. - I've also added my own user name to the printer admin list - I've created the directory that print$ points to, created W32X86

Another Uploading Printer drivers problem.
Hi. I have been following another thread describing problems uploading printer drives - but I think I have a different problem. In my case I have a Samsung CLP510 colour laser physically connected to a Centos 5.1 X86-64 Linux box with Samba 3.0251514 (3.0.25b-1.el5_1.4

Uploading printer driver from Windows client gives "access denied" error
I'm using Samba 3.0 on a Debian Sarge server, and am trying to upload printer drivers from a Windows client. I connect to the server using the root credentials (yes I know ...), but every time I get an "access denied" message when the driver upload process starts. I can perform other root functions via this connection no problem. I have uploaded drivers this way in the past but

[PATCH 0/2] virtio: console: control queue race fixes
Hello, The first patch here fixes the race seen by Miche. He hasn't yet reported back if this fixes the races he saw, but Joy Pu from Red Hat tested this patch with hot-plugging/unplugging ports in a loop. Before this patch, he saw some freezes as well as sysfs warnings. After applying the patch, all was well. The second patch can be folded into the series fixing S4 for virtio-console. It

Problem Uploading Printer Drivers from XP
I am having problems uploading printer drivers from my WinXP workstation. I can use my Win2K workstation just fine, but when I try to use the exact same user ID and access the exact same printer, the New Driver... button on the XP printer dialog is disabled. The only thing I can think of is permissions on the client side (since it is the same user ID being used). I tried granting my user ID full

I'm having trouble uploading printer drivers using Windows XP's APW. Since I'm not sure where to look for a solution, perhaps someone here can help. I've tried a few different procedures, but I'll only describe one here. 1) browse to the samba server in windows xp 2) double click on "Printers & Faxes" 3) right click on some blank window area and select
