XP Home can't print to Samba
OK, I was so pleased to get Samba and CUPS working and XP Pro systems printing fine. Then, I went through the same steps with a laptop that had XP Home on it. I installed the printer drivers as an admin, and had no trouble accessing shares on Samba. Even could connect to and view the printer. Trouble is that nothing printed. After clicking Print Test Page, there was around a 1 min pause before

Network Scanner and CentOS 5.5
I have an HP Photosmart 3210 All-in-One color printer. Printing works great, but I cannot get xsane to locate it on the local subnet. I've been to the sane site and looked at the backends. The HP 3210 is supported by hpio and there is a note that hpio is no longer needed because the functionality has been rolled int hplip. yum shows hplip is installed: hplip.x86_64 1.6.7-4.1.el5.4

Printing from Windows is printing PS commands instead of job!
I've about run out of ideas and need some help. I have an HP OfficeJet 7110 installed on my Fedora Core 3 box. From Linux, it prints perfectly, the Test Page works, I can print from Mozilla/Thunderbird/Firefox, KDE applications, and even Emacs, all without any issues whatsoever. The problem is I can't seem to get it to work when I share the printer to Windows. I've shared it to

Canon PIXMA mg5420 or HP Photo Smart 7520
In need of a new printer, having done a bit or research, and considering either the Canon PIXMA mg5420 or the HP Photo Smart 7520. There are Linux drivers for the Photosmart which are supposed to handle both the printer and the scanner. But in my research I haven't found (yet) anyone who's gotten the scanner to work with Linux on the Photosmart, let alone the sheet feeder for it.

HP Photosmart C6180 and smbclient (and other unix based smb clients)
Hi, I'm trying to access a share called MEMORY_CARD on an HP Photosmart C6180 from a linux system. Smbclient keeps returning some form of access denied. Strangely enough, the finder application on Mac OS X is able to 'mount' it. I get the same error with smbclient under OS X. Windows has no trouble accessing it through explorer as well as through calls to net use with cmd.

Samba Cups Windows 98 Raw Printing - need help
Hello - I am trying to use Samba and Cups to serve a file share and a "raw" printer to a Windows 98 client. I am using Gentoo Linux, kernel 2.6.12, Samba 3.0.14a, and Cups 1.1.23. I can access the data share from the Samba server, but the printer share does not show up when I try to use it, even if I specifically type in the name of the share (\\data_dog\win98_photosmart) it still

samba spool problem...
Hi all, I just realized that the samba print spool is no longer flushing its queue'd print jobs even after it's been printed. In other words, the spool will eventually get full during which no jobs can be spooled and printed anymore. I worked around the problem and inserted the -r option to lpr for the print command in smb.conf: /usr/local/bin/lpr -r -P%p %s That seems to have the

printer-access not possible after change of dns-name
Hi there, I ran 2 years a perfect samba 2.2.12 on a suse 8 machine, acting as a pdc with w2k-clients. Printing was done with raw-printing over smb to cups (client-side drivers). The old dns-name was "server.localnet", the netbios-name "server". After changing my internal dns-system to "*.example" there is no access to my printer (hp photosmart 1000)

[LLVMdev] libclang JIT frontend
Hi, I'm not sure if this is a libclang, llvm::cl or clang-interpreter issue so I'll try posting here for a response. I am using libclang as a frontend to the LLVM JIT (3.3 release). I started from the clang-interpreter example and have everything working (given a C/C++ source file I can have it JIT'd to memory and executed) for a single run. When I try to compile a second source

[LLVMdev] [patch] gccld not passing -export-dynamic to gcc for link
gccld passes -shared through if it's generating a shared library, but if you're compiling a program that needs to have its symbols externally accessible, it doesn't pass -export-dynamic through to gcc for the final link. The attached patch fixes this. I've tested with a small test case I sent Chris, and with Python; both seem to work. I also fixed some inaccurate comments in
