After installing Samba3.0.21c, on AIX 5.2 ML7 I get the following error trying to join a domain, can anyone offer any advice? Cannot connect to Samba-3.0.23d (and earlier) from other trusted AD domains
Hi there We have a bunch of Samba 3.0.10+ CentOS4.4 servers that are working 100% fine when connected to from users who are members of the same ADS domain our Samba servers are members of. However, users from other ADS domains (we are all W2K3-based) on our network cannot connect - they get NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED. The shares they are trying to connect to have no share-level permission checks -

AR(2) modelling
Hi useRs, I'm trying to fit a basic AR(2) model with the 'ar' function. And when I try to check the value of the coefficients, I could not find the same value as the 'ar' function. Here is my example: myserie <- c(212, 205, 210, 213, 217, 222, 216, 218, 220, 212, 215, 236) #plot(myserie, type="l") myserieminus0 <- tail(myserie, -2) myserieminus1 <-

Building a package with an existing dll
I have setup a package directory structure with all the relevent files in the src, R, man and data directories. Also have the correct DESCRIPTION and NAMESPACE files in the root directory. I don't wisk to recompile the .dll file in the src directory as it currently works fine if I locate it in the same workdirectory as my R source code that calls it. This is a little tedious having to move

getent group not listing domain groups / wbinfo -r not working
I know, I know, this again :) The company I work for would like to use squid for proxy authentication purposes using NTLM, using a Windows 2008 R2 server as a DC. I've managed to setup samba/winbind to use ads and successfully joined the domain. Configured nsswitch.conf to lookup winbind entities (however I didn't touch PAM configuration, as I don't actually want the users to be able

qqplot for count data
Dear list, I just tried to do the same thing, and did not find anything on a weighted qqplot. My weights are actually counts (positive integers). Here is a modification of qqplot, following Duncan Murdoch's suggestion. Any feedback would be welcome! Thanks, Jean-Christophe weighted.qqplot <- function (x, y, plot.it = TRUE, xlab = deparse(substitute(x)), ylab = deparse(substitute(y)),

plot 4th variable contour lines on filled.contour
Hello, I have a dataset with 4 variables, each consisting of a vector, all with the same length. I start by interpolating the first three variables using the function "interp", and plot the interpolation successfully using "filled.contour". I then interpolate the first two variables and a fourth using "interp" again, but when I try to overlay the contour lines

samba becomes unreliable on upgrading to SOlaris 10
Hello, we've been more than happy with Samba 3.0.22 on our Solaris 9 machines, but when we upgraded to Solaris 10 users are experiencing a multitude of XP desktop problems: icons disappear, start menu will hang because a few items link back to a samba share, many XP windows write delay problems, the whole desktop will hang. It seems the samba server will stop responding. Is there anybody out

(newbie) Weighted qqplot?
Folks, Normally, in a data frame, one observation counts as one observation of the distribution. Thus one can easily produce a CDF and (in Splus atleast) use cdf.compare to compare the CDF (BTW: what is the R equivalent of the SPlus cdf.compare() function, if any?) However, if each point should not count equally, how can I weight the points before comparing the distributions? I was thinking of

Quotas with Maildir and mdbox
Hello, We use LDAP to store our Maildir++ quota information for our Maildir mailboxes. I notice in the documentation that only SQL and flat files are supported by the dictionary quota if I want to use quota with mdbox? Are there any plans to allow LDAP to be used as the store? Many STATUS_INVALID_HANDLE
I'm in the process of trying to track down the cause of frequent Delayed Write Failures on our network. Most seem to be from database-like files (e.g. firefox/thunderbird sqlite files) that are stored in the users Application Data directory. The AppData directory in our case is on a mapped network drive and excluded from the set of files copied back and forth as part of the roaming

uw-imap compatability hack?
Hi all Apologies if this question has already been asked before... I'm migrating from a uw-imap setup where the mail folders were in a subdir mail/ in the users' home directories. All of the clients are configured with 'IMAP server directory' set to mail/ (Thunderbird) and it would be difficult to change this on the clients (there are 1000s of them) I want to use maildir and I

Newbie - want to view code for a function
Brand new to R Want to understand the algorithm used in yule-walker time series autoregression model I assume there is a way to see the source for ar.yw I also assume that everybody except me knows how Could someone suggest to me how to find out I've looked thru some of the documenttion - there's a lot - and apparently I haven't looked the right place. Thanks in advance Dick

Simple AR(2)
Hi there, we are beginners in R and we are trying to fit the following time series using ar(2): > x <- c(1.89, 2.46, 3.23, 3.95, 4.56, 5.07, 5.62, 6.16, 6.26, 6.56, 6.98, > 7.36, 7.53, 7.84, 8.09) The reason of choosing the present time series is that the we have previously calculated analitically the autoregressive coefficients using the direct inversion method as 1.1, 0.765, 0.1173.

pacf
Dear list, according to the documentation of acf{ts} "the partial correlation coefficient is estimated by fitting autoregressive models of successively higher orders up to lag.max. " However, R seems to return the Yule-Walker estimates of the PACF by default. You can check this using c(1:10) as the series: the YW estimates are 0.7000000 and -0.1527035 for lags 1 and 2 . If the PACF

help in SVM

question about order selection of ar
Hi, I have an AR(1) series, so I thought that the order of the series should be 1. A simple lm fit with one period lag predicts the series pretty well. But when I tried ar, I got different orders: ar.mle selected order 6, ar.burgselected order 14, and ar.yw selected order 6. So I am wondering maybe I miss understood what "order" means in R? Does anyone know why would ar select order 6
