Hi folks, I got a fileserver with debian sarge which is being held up to date as good as I can. I got a machine with two harddrives. One holds kubuntu dapper and one holds winxp. And then there's more machines but they don't matter at the moment. On the filserver there's a share _images_ that has a force user/group _images_ constraint. Therefore when I save an image to that share

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Add the disable_aslr option that will disable the address space layout randomization under AddressSanitizer on 10.6
Yes, we have no ASRL with -no_pie. Can we disable ASRL even with -pie? On linux we can do it with "setarch x86_64 -R". Another question: if asan would require -no_pie on Mac, will this be a serious limitation? [LLVMdev] [PATCH] Add the disable_aslr option that will disable the address space layout randomization under AddressSanitizer on 10.6
Options when creating a main executable -pie This makes a special kind of main executable that is position independent (PIE). On Mac OS X 10.5 and later, the OS the OS will load a PIE at a random address each time it is executed. You cannot create a PIE from .o files compiled with -mdy- namic-no-pic. That means the

vfs object recycle: could two shares use the same repository?
Hi, i use the vfs-object "recycle" on the [homes] share and defined recycle:repository = /backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle. What happens, when using the same repository path for another share, e.g. [data]. Could this lead to data loss in the waste bin? I could of course branch into "/backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle/homes" and "/backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle/data" but i

administrative shares
Hi all, I cannot find a good description of how to use the windows administrative shares. Since I'd like to mount them from a Linux box, using samba, to perform backup of the user client, I'd like to know how can I access them. In particular, in a computer where I've got a single user, without password, what are the share credentials? And how can I set permissions for such share?

Access to admin shares on clients
Hello. With my installation of Samba I am thinking to use remote client software installation. For this I need to have access to admin shares on clients: such as C$, D$, ADMIN$, etc.... This is where I have a problem. I can't access those shares using Domain Admin credentials and I can't find any info on this anywhere in docs. Perhaps this task is not as common. Would anyone provide

Domain Member Server or Mounted Shares?
Now that I have my Samba PDC up and running, I will soon be building a NAS for network file storage, backups and running virtual machines and tests. I need to make some shares on this machine that network users can access for file storage. I can either design it to be a Samba Domain Member and set up shares that would be authenticated via the PDC or I could simply mount the shares to the PDC

Shares losing group entries
Hello, This my first post to this list. I just spent the last day an a half building a Samba server for our corporate network. Our Windows file server crashed so I stepped up and decided to go with Samba 3.023d on Suse 10.2. Anyway, I am using Winbindd to control access. The problem I am currently faced with has to do with security permissions sticking to the share. From the Windows MMC I right

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Add the disable_aslr option that will disable the address space layout randomization under AddressSanitizer on 10.6
+llvmdev Question to MacOS gurus: is there a way to disable ASLR (address space layout randomization) on Darwin at link time instead of doing setenv("DYLD_NO_PIE", "1", 1); and reexec? Dovecot mailstore performance tuning
HI All, We have a couple of dovecot director proxies and six backed mailstores each accessing mailboxes stored on five NFSv4 filsystems with about 1TB of mail on each in maildir format.? We have about 800 max users on each mailstore at peak times and performance appears to starting to degrade at these times.? The mailstores are pretty recent hardware with 64GB of RAM and 24 cores.?? The NFS
