Each name has got its own IP address. Both servers are AD members, run as expected and can be connected to via their netbios and netbios alias names. If, for example, srv1 fails I want to add

Ldap failover
This is driving me nuts... I have two LDAP servers working. One primary, one slave. Replication is working. I have my PDC authenticating against one LDAP server, or the other. I cannot get it to check the first, if that is unavailable, then check the second. It basically crashes. Here is the line I am currently using in smb.conf: ldap server = srv1.domain.com This works, as does:

Multiple DC haven't HA on Windows
Hello, I'm trying to replace a Windows Server 2003 DC that has problems, with a Samba 4 domain with HA. The linux client server seems to works fine even when main DC/DNS server fails, but as always, Windows clients not... They are able to log in (maybe using cached credentials), but the GPO are not being applied... I've checked the sysvol folder and both are syncsynchronized and

Winbind troubles
I've rolled 2 virtual servers running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and have installed the SerNet packages. SRV1 has the AD setup and SRV2 is a member server. I've followed the wiki for both servers to the letter, and winbind still refuses to grab info on the member server. I rolled the provision with --use-rfc2307, added a bunch of users with samba-tool. I then manually created a group and made sure
