Samba 3.5 w/ Active Directory Share Authentication
Hi,
I'm attempting to configure Samba 3.5 to authenticate share access via Active Directory. I do not wish to authenticate system users against AD, only Samba shares. I have successfully joined the server to the AD domain, with a few errors:
$ net join -W buildel664 -U jbadmin
Enter jbadmin's password:
Using short domain name -- NA

re: Samba + Winbind + SuSE Linux AD auth not working
ok here's the situation; i've done this on 7 servers
same either SLES 9 or 10, and all those work. i have a
problem server though which is SLES v9 (same versions
of all daemons/services that would be used) and this
one just wont allow AD auth to work
i can restart all smb, nmb, winbind, and ssh servers
with no errors

If then else with command for
Hey listers,
I am trying to do something simple... Check the program below...
I would like to create a variable named COLOR according to the conditions
that I stablished... But the problem is that it seems that my variable COLOR
is checking just on sample, may be last in the loop... Certainly, I am
missing something...
Thanks in advance,

problem with shadow suit in RH5.2 ??
I am by no means an expert along these lines, but should the
following small program lock out (for 60 seconds) elements of the shadow
suit such as chsh ??
------------------------
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <shadow.h>
void main() {
if(lckpwdf()) {
printf("Failed to get password locks\n");
exit(0);
}

shadow file question
There is this * in the password field of the shadow file for certain
accounts.
I know that the ! is to indicate a locked account but what does a * mean?
man 5 shadow does not reveal anything.

Could not get shadow information for NOUSER
Hello all,
I have a CentOS 4.2 server that gives me these error messages in my
/var/log/secure file, I realise that these are SSH attacks, but where does
the extra line "Could not get shadow information for NOUSER" come from?
This doesn't make any sense. I have many servers running CentOS 4.2, but
don't get this error message on any others. I hate junk in my logs. Is
there
