Problems removing a SBS 2008 server from a Samba AD DC.
Hi, I have a samba 4.7.9 DC that I am trying to remove a windows SBS dc from. In doing this I have run across several problems. For whatever reason when I try to dcpromo the windows DC it fails because it says it cannot contact the samba4 DC. I have checked replication as per https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Verifying_the_Directory_Replication_Statuses All of the tests pass. Since we are going

Mount to SBS 2003

virtio or IDE on SBS 2011 (or any domain controller)
CentOS 6.2, using latest KVM drivers for Windows guests. Using LVM for storage, software raid 10, RAW with write cache disabled in the virt manager. When using virtio drivers for disk drives Windows Server complains about write caching being enabled. I can't disable it either. Using IDE prevents this from being happening, however the performance sucks. All searches related to fixing the write

Samba (old) and shared printers on MS Win 2003 SBS
This might be a rube question; if so I apologize in advance. Someone asked me to help and I don't have much info, but I have a limited window and have to be forearmed with as much information as possible before I set foot in the door. The guy that asked for help runs a Red Hat 6.2 box with the version of Samba that came with RH 6.2. I asked him what version of Samba it was. He

connecting to samba from 2003 sbs domain client running xpprofi
Hi, Addition to my message below.. Computers which doesnt login to the domain controller at startup like windows xp home ed. , dont seem to have this effect. It seems that you have to keep the connection up and running on the xp profi pc's to stop this problem from happening. ??? The Hypervisor has 16 GB of RAM, currently 2 GB are allocated to Dom0. This specific DomU has 8

Samba 4 migration from dead SBS 2003
Hello, I have successfully joined a SBS 2003 (SRVACMPDC01) domain with two additional Samba 4 DCs (SAMBA4PDC and SAMBA4DEDI, currently both 4.0.4-GIT-9899851). Everything worked fine: DNS / AD replication etc. The windows server was still responsible for DNS / DHCP / all FSMO roles. Now the original SBS 2003 crashed and refuses to start again (long story). In order to get a temporary workaround

smbclient from linux to Win2k3 server AD share
We are trying to mount a dfs share on a Redhat 9 machine that's served from our W2K3 AD server. We've been banging our heads against this for quite a while, so I thought it time to run up the white flag and ask here. We've been trying variations of this: # mount -t smbfs -o username=OURDOMAIN\administrator,password=adminpasswd //servername/dfs /mnt/dfs and we've been getting

Samba 3.0.2 an Win2k3 AD DC
I try to integrate a Samba/CUPS Printserver into Windows 2003 Active Directory. First it works fine. I could join the domain, the users could print an access the print shares. But after a couple of hours (10-12 I think) I get errors about invalid credentials. I think Samba didn't renew the Kerberos Tickets. Used Software SuSE 9.0, Samba 3.0.2a, heimdal 0.6 Thanks for any help Marcel Volz
