XP clients disconnected during trasnfer of larger files to the samba server
i'm having an issue when transferring large files to the samba servers
from an xp client - files about 1GB or larger. about 70% into the
transfer i get a network share no longer exists error and the transfer
fails. I can pull down from the server fine with no issues. The XP
machines are authenticating from a different Samba server though the
problem is with that machine as well. Error and

Trasnfer to a different VM box after leaving a VM
Anyone have any advise on how to allow an inbound caller to leave to
voicemail on one extension, and after doing so without hanging up ,
transfer to another extension to leave another voicemail. I know this
can be done when you call into your own voicemail, but I can't seem to
find anything on how to it when an unknown inbound caller leaves a
message on an extension. Apparently this was a

TSIG error with server: tsig verify failure
Hello,
I still receive this error in my log.samba and when running
'/samba_dnsupdate --verbose --all-names'. Has this been fixed
completely? Searching through the archives I see this post
https://lists.samba.org/archive/samba-technical/2013-February/090408.html.
Using Samba 4.1.7 with Ubuntu Server 12.04. My understanding is the
update still succeeds but the error is

[LLVMdev] [PATCH] Don't optimize out GDB JIT registrar
Thanks Joerg.
I've made the change you suggested and verified that it still works. I
think the noinline is still required though as this function can be called
from a couple of places and gdb will want to set its breakpoint on the
single function address. Let me know if you think otherwise though.
Cheers,
Andrew

Rendering farm?
I received at least one email suggesting a Windows-based rendering
farm - likely to consist of a few rack systems all running 64-bit
Windows. I read an article on Tomshardware which gave some decent
insight. What can list participants offer on this concept?
I don't care _how_ the resource is implemented - virtual machine,
cluster, etc. I just want to get the most resources for the money,

[LLVMdev] Would it be possible to have the LLVM be seen as an arch for the kernel to compile against?
I posted this question on the llvm channel on irc. I am new to all of
this. And I only found out about LLVA as a result of the irc. And please
forgive my erroneous terminology. So let me try this as best I can.
I want to know if the code of LLVA/LLVM can be used as a virtual
processor in configuring the linux kernel? Maybe you have already
encountered this and possibly accomplished it as

modify permissions fail on new file server.
Hello,
I'm using winbindd with samba 3.0.1. Everything starts up as expected
and tests return the expected results (wbinfo and getent). Files
created via windows clients are create with the proper ownership and
group membership. When I attempt to modify the permissions via the
windows security tab (add another group, change ownership for example)
I'll get a win pop up saying

Hardware ASan Generating Unknown Instruction
Thanks for the confirmation. From the assembly that was sent on the other
branch of the thread:
> .set .L.str, .L.str.hwasan-3458764513820540928
-3458764513820540928 = 0xd0 << 56
i.e. a "negative" tag.
So this appears to be the issue exactly.

Getting rIDNextRID errors after upgrading two samba ADs to 4.2
We finally managed to upgrade from samba 4.1 to 4.2.9 (sernet
packages). We have two replicated samba ADs. After the upgrade
everything seems to
work as expected, but I'm constantly getting this error message in the
logs. They weren't there before the upgrade:

Debugging Samba 4 AD Setup
We're using quite successfully a samba 4.1 AD setup authenticating user.
We have on an unregular basis
mails that can't be delivered because dovecot-pam fails to verify the
credentials. I'm trying to debug
this and set the loglevel up to 3.
I can see an error message being spammed in the log files and can't
figure out what causes this. I expect a configuration error somewhere

Hardware ASan Generating Unknown Instruction
I suspect that this is hitting the issue that I mentioned here:
https://reviews.llvm.org/D65857#1621335
We may need to do what I suggested there and restrict global tag entropy on
non-Android Linux to 7 bits. You can try working around this issue for now
by using lld as the linker (-fuse-ld=lld).
