re: ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess (Access denied.
I'm unable to mount a windows share on my linux box. I can use the samba client to browse the share, but the mount fails: $ smbclient //server/users -U domain/isillight Password: **** Domain=[DOMAIN] OS=[Windows Server 2003 3790 Service Pack 1] Server=[Windows Server 2003 5.2] smb: \> smb: \> quit # grep isillight /etc/passwd isillight:x:1000:1000:isillight:/home/isillight:/bin/bash

Samba and connections to LDAP timeout
Hi We have an all SAMBA Domain (all samba-3.0.23d) running with two OpenLDAP servers (2.3.27). We experience quite a few NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUTs when using smbclient. Windows clients just experience delays (up to several minutes). I've done some debugging: On the client i issue: smbclient -Umhansen //lfs1/mhansen lfs1 is a domain member server. On lfs1 (log level 10) i get the following in

Winbindd and idletimeout on the LDAP server
Hi We have a problem with samba (winbind) when we enable idletimeout on the OpenLDAP servers. If it is set we sometimes get an error: mhansen@scenic32:~> smbclient -Umhansen //cups/p6 Password: session setup failed: NT_STATUS_IO_TIMEOUT The log entries (log.wb-DOMAIN)on the DOMAIN MEMBER server (cups in this case) are: [2006/11/20 14:24:07, 0] rpc_client/cli_pipe.c:rpc_api_pipe(790)

Odd Mac OSX 10.6 error on Samba share
Hi All, I've done quite a bit of research on this one and if I'm honest about the cause of this "fault" it's probably because I'm trying to do too much "outside the box" :) Nevertheless I enjoy the challenge so here is the scenario: I have a Samba Service (v3.2.5) providing file shares running on Debian 2.6. The samba server uses a Windows Domain server for

possible reason for 'ERRnoaccess (Access denied.)' with 'securty = user' and correct username, password ?
If 'security' is 'user' in smb.conf, and I provide correct username and password in 'mount -t smbfs -o username=USER,password=PASSWORD ... I use nonstandard port ' option port=123 on the smbclient side, and -p 123 on the samba sevrer side, on the smbd command line). Can be this

ERRDOS - 50 when restoring a tar file
A collegue of mine has problems restoring files that are created with smbtar. I also tried it (using smbclient -T) and encountered the same problem. The tar file can be restored on unix without problem, but restoring them on a PC results in the following error messages: smbclient '\\jaap\temp' -Tx backup.tar Added interface ip=192.93.141.1 bcast=192.93.141.255 nmask=255.255.255.0 Server

Hi. We run Samba 2.2.1a in production and it seems to be working fine. We run it on RedHat 7.2, kernel 2.4.7-10smp. All of a sudden (I'm sure it's for a reason, but I can't tell why), this shows up in the logs: Oct 15 10:36:03 mumbai kernel: smb_errno: class ERRDOS, code 112 from command 0xb Oct 15 10:36:03 mumbai kernel: smb_errno: class ERRDOS, code 112 from command 0xb Oct

I have read the docs and I have googled, and I have been unable to fix this problem. I have samba 3.0 installed on RH8 and when I have settings like: [global] netbios name = DYER-PC-JO workgroup = DYERLAB server string = SMB Server Test security = share [public] path = /tmp guest ok = yes writeable = yes I can mount my share wonderfully in with both RH9 and OSX as clients.
