I added the following to my smb.conf [private] writeble = yes guest ok = no path = /home/samba/private valid users = wendy, pierre write list = wendy, pierre force user = nobody All i need yo do now is make the folder "private" to nobody. Hello, I have a problem with a LDAP backed based Samba PDC. Last week, due an hardware problem, I lost my primary LDAP server and PDC. I did a clean install of Redhat 7.3 on a system. The install included samba, samba-client, samba-common. I moved the saved versions of smb.conf, smbusers and swbpasswd to /etc/samba. I am running Mandrake 10.0 Official PowerPack, I have Samba 3.0.2a and my Windows XP PCs can see the Workgroup but there is no PC in the Workgroup.
