out of HDD space - zfs degraded
Overnight I was running a zfs send | zfs receive (both within the same system / zpool). The system ran out of space, a drive went off line, and the system is degraded. This is a raidz2 array running on FreeBSD 8.1-STABLE #0: Sat Sep 18 23:43:48 EDT 2010. The following logs are also available at http://www.langille.org/tmp/zfs-space.txt <- no line wrapping This is what was running: #

setting up printers with Samba and Windows NT workstation
Hello all. I'm a samba newbie given the task of setting up samba to act as a print server for 5 HP laser printers ranging from the LaserJet 4MV to the LaserJet 8150N. I've done a search of the samba mailing list archives to see if my problem has already been addressed, but I have been unable to find anything that refers to the same error I'm receiving. I am using SWAT to administer

Samba + sssd deployment: success and failure
So, we have Samba file sharing working on CentOS 7.6 with sssd: [root at cns-srv-lnode2 samba]# cat /etc/redhat-release CentOS Linux release 7.6.1810 (Core) [root at cns-srv-lnode2 samba]# smbd --version Version 4.8.3 Some smb.conf configuration details: - security = user - an idmap entry is unnecessary - disable netbios = yes works fine - pretty sure nmbd is unnecessary

Is Puppet similar to Capistrano?
I discovered Capistrano while I was trying to figure out what I wanted. See attached notes. http://www.genunix.org/wiki/index.php/GNOSIS/Kraken Puppet seems promising. Thanks, Brian -- - Brian Gupta http://opensolaris.org/os/project/nycosug/

zpool destroy causes panic
I'm trying to destroy a zfs array which I recently created. It contains nothing of value. # zpool status pool: storage state: ONLINE status: One or more devices could not be used because the label is missing or invalid. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue functioning in a degraded state. action: Replace the device using 'zpool replace'.

CTDB over WAN Link with LMASTER/RECMASTER Disabled
Hi, I came across the 'CTDB_CAPABILITY_LMASTER=no' and 'CTDB_CAPABILITY_RECMASTER=no' options in my quest to salvage a rather poorly performing CTDB cluster over Ceph(fs). Unfortunately, the docs provide not enough information for a clustering noop like myself. Would there be any benefit to disabling those options for a branch office node on a high-latency WAN connection?

Samba + SSSD: confirmed working for Samba versions 4.7.6 and 4, 8.3
I thought I sent this, but didn't see it hit the list. Since this presented a considerable amount of frustration (requiring a netbios name seems illogical in an AD-only world), I'm sending it again. Apologies if this is a repost. -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Samba + SSSD: confirmed working for Samba versions 4.7.6 and 4,8.3 Date: Tue, 18 Jun 2019 17:15:47 -0500 From:

Failed to set servicePrincipalNames 3.023rc3
Hello Jerry, I would like to add one point I struggled regarding this error message: Using short domain name -- NELNET Failed to set servicePrincipalNames. Please ensure that the DNS domain of this server matches the AD domain, Or rejoin with using Domain Admin credentials. Disabled account for 'NELNET' in realm 'NELNET.DE' But anything looked correct, e.g. "hostname"

Failed to set servicePrincipalNames
When trying to execute "net ads join", I was getting the following message: "Failed to set servicePrincipalNames. Please ensure that the DNS domain of this server matches the AD domain, Or rejoin with using Domain Admin credentials." A couple of tips to troubleshoot this problem: 1. Do a kinit username@KERBEROS.REALM so that you can get a ticket opened and not have to

FireFox-46.0.1 build with interprocedural register allocation enabled
Hi, the best way to move forward, and I guess the answer to your question, is to get your work to build and test on try. And now I'm going to flood you with jargon, sorry. Instead of trying to document that all here, I suggest you ask people for help on irc. Notably, #taskcluster, and #build. Folks there are your target audience for compiler changes, too. First read is

Failed to set servicePrincipalNames (driving me insane!)
List, I've searched extensively on this issue and I understand that it is related to having an incorrectly set hostname. The problem is I have made the changes and I still cannot get one specific machine to join to AD. I have successfully used the process on six other hosts with no issues. Some information: LON01330# hostname LON01330.COMPANY.NET ============================== LON01330#
