killing remote commands
Dear ssh gurus,
Here's the version I'm testing on :
flavien :/$ ssh -V
OpenSSH_5.3p1 Debian-3ubuntu4, OpenSSL 0.9.8k 25 Mar 2009
I launch a remote command :
flavien$ ssh -o ControlMaster=yes -o ControlPath=/tmp/ssh-control localhost 'echo pid:$$ ...sleeping...; sleep 2803'
flavien at localhost's password:
pid:11565 ...sleeping...

What is WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi,
I searched through the list archives and saw this question asked but not
answered, so I'm hoping someone can help me.
I am trying to use rpcclient to set a printer driver and it's failing
with the error message: WERR_ACCESS_DENIED. I've included the full
output of the command at debug 4 level below.
Here's the probably pertinent information. First, this use to work.

+ and - in RODBC : no longer considered factors
I have a large Sweave report that reads data from a database file. Some of
the columns are 1-character strings containing only +, - or NA. An example
for such a table is shown below, and can be downloaded for easier testing
from
http://www.menne-biomed.de/uni/test.zip
(For security reasons, the file is zipped)

Hi,
In my company , we have 25 HP printers at different floors. All
printesr are configured on One Linux Machine. Each printer has one
administrator. My task is share the printer to that particular

For example if i have 2 printers ( HP1 and HP2) , i want to share
HP1 printer to only 192.168.0.1 and HP2 printer to only 192.168.0.2.

multiple instances of dovecot ?
Hello,
I got a dovecot server running on a Debian Linux machine. I'd
like to run another instance of it. I start it with another
config file with debug output on stderr. The auth parameters are
different :
dovecot1: Imapd only, listens on 143, auth=/etc/passwd
dovecot2: Imapd only, listens on 144, auth=mysql
It kinda works... But...
How does one instance of it recognizes the

SSH 5.8p1 hang in kernel mode / AIX 7.1
Hello,
An AIX machine runs a program that forks ssh client in order to
launch commands on a remote. I'm first seting up a Master connection
with a ControlPath, then using that connection to launch various
commands on the remote, and killing the master by issuing a
"-O exit" command.
SSH client version on that machine is :

werr_access_denied when running setdriver for a printer
Hi all,
I'm getting WERR_ACCESS_DENIED error for some of the printers when running
setdriver printer_name printer_driver as part of the cupsaddsmb step.
Weirdly, it works for some printers, and never works for others, while all
the printers have the same settings. Samba 3.5.20 with CUPS 1.5.4.
Does this part of log give any clue of why could this happen?

rpcclient setdriver fails with WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
Dear Samba-experts,
I'm trying to setup automatic printer download with our
samba 4.19.4 fileserver which is a domain member of
our samba 4.18.2 AD.
printer drivers have been installed on the fileserver:
root at serv00:# rpcclient -Uprtadmin%pass1 SERV00 -c enumdrivers

Group permissions and recursion
Hi,
Now that we have successfully moved a first department share on to our
mega SAMBA server, we're in the 20% of the old 80/20 rule. Our problem
has to do with group permissions within the extended acl.
We have implemented winbind along with the ADS security mode. This
means that a user isn't just "jdoe", but is "MYDOMAIN\jdoe". We are
using the extended ACL

I just did and I now feel that something is wrong with
our Administrator-account.
Granting the SePrintOperatorPrivilege to user NAV\prtadmin with user
NAV\Administator failes on our fileserver (INVALID PASSWORD).

The drivers need to be copied to the directory returned by the "getdriverdir"
rpc command. On my system the output looks like:

Problems with samba as PDC
Greeting-
I have a mixed network of ms-windows, macintosh and freebsd systems.
I am setting up a FreeBSD 9.0 system as a PDC using samba.
I can from a FreeBSD box attach to the SMB server as a user that is defined
on the Samba Server.

Need help figuring out "homes" share path
Hi,
We set up a server to manage departmental servers and we're using
winbind inorder to be able to manage access via AD domain
accounts/groups. And that's all working the way we want -- access to
department shares is being managed by membership in domain groups in
active directory. That same physical server also has a second available

[PATCH] PamServiceNameAppend
Hello,
Here's the situation I'm facing : I'm running OpenSSH on a server. On
a gateway, I forward TCP:22 to the server TCP:22. So far, so good. I can
log in from inside the lan by connecting using standard SSH port, or
from the other network through the gateway.
Now, I'd like a different configuration for connections from the
outside. I start another SSHd on the
