I am having pretty much the same issue that you were having with your
Samba + Ldap setup it is listed below...did you happen to solve this
issue or figure a work around ?
Thanks,

Hello,
I've seen other folks posting with this problem, but I think my issue
is a
bit different (thus the super long subject).
The environment is Solaris 9 09/05, running Samba 3.0.22/Sun DS

Samba accounts disabled
Hello,
We have been running Samba 2.2.x/Sun ONE LDAP on a particular machine for
about 3 years now and I recently upgraded it to 3.0.14a with ldapsam
compatibility (I can mess with the directory later if necessary).
Now when users try to connect to the server their accounts get disabled
unless I have specifically enabled them using smbpasswd -e username (which

Still having samba join domain problems
So I was having problems getting a machine to join to a samba PDC running on
Solaris 9 using the bundled LDAP server. Ill skip all my previous
troubleshooting steps here (Ive tried just about anything and everything).
Anyway - so I deleted all of the attributes for samba in the directory and
ran the idealx populate script. It seemed to go just fine (the other
scripts seem to work fine too).

pdbedit handles samba domain name incorrectly
Hi folks.
I discovered this odd behaviour a few days ago while playing with SAMBA_3 for
the first time. The following points apply to samba-3.0.0beta and to
cvs-20030807.
1. (tested with tdbsam)
If I create a user entry with pdbedit, the domain name field is not set to the
domain specified in the configuration file. For me it's getting set to the
local machine name. If I logon to a

I've also installed a ldap server to store users and groups and so on.
When I try a pdbedit -v david, I get the following :

pdbedit - RID for machine accounts
Hi,
I've tried to search for the problem on the lists without finding a
solution.
I'm trying to recreate a crashed PDC system on a new system with samba
3.0.4. It is a small domain and I use tdbsam as a backend. No LDAP (yet ;).
I could actually retrieve the old SIDs from a backup file, and also the
smb.conf file. All other files was though lost :(
I managed to give the new domain (PDC)

Heads-up: now it will be possible to manually select `subdriver` in `usbhid-ups`, and... looking at a release!
Hi,
> Since NUT is guessing, is there a way to make it list likely drivers back
to the user when they are a close match and check validity for each one
until it gets a good connection? Part of auto select?
What NUT currently does in `usbhid-ups` (some other drivers may handle
similar stuff differently), is it goes through a list of subdrivers built
into the binary and calls those

I attempt to access the Samba server via Windows networking (network
