virsh dom state
Hi there, I'm running KVM under Openstack . When I give virsh list command, I see some VM in NON persistent state. What does it mean? How can I move it to a persisten state ? I found that I cannot make a snapshot, from Openstack , of a machine which is in a NON PERSISTENT state. Regards Fiorenza -- Spazio Web S.r.l. V. Expiry of entries in netsamlogon_cache.tdb
I think we're suffering from bug 8641 at the moment: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8641 where the netsamlogon_cache.tdb entries are not expiring. We use AD groups for our (redhat) server auth, and also use server-side group auth for NFS (with the --manage-gids flag). So if a user is not in a group on the server, they're denied access to files as per group permissions.

netsamlogon_cache.tdb & winbind.
All, I wonder if someone can give me an idea what the file "netsamlogon_cache.tdb" contains... as I have noticed that I can be added to a group, and access will not appear on the Unix side for a good deal of time... but if I stop Winbind, remove the file "netsamlogon_cache.tdb", and re-start everything, it will then work. Can anyone tell me what the purpose of this file is,

winbind or netsamlogon_cache.tdb issue
Hello, i am using samba 3.0.9 (winbind in particular) on RHES server for a squid project : to authenticate users or check in they are member of some groups on AD W2K servers. It has been working fine for one year. Last week, we have defined new AD groups to use for this project. The problem that i am facing, is that for some users, the check to see if the user is in the group is working fine,

Anonymous access in windows 2003 sp1

what are *.tdb files?
In /varcache/samba/ I have several .tdb files. Like brlock.tdb, locking.tdb, ntdrivers.tdb, etc. Excusing my ignorance, what are these files, and what do they do? And why must they be copied when migrating from one samba server to a new one?

Can connect to shares via IP but not hostname
Last night I upgraded my FC5 to samba-3.0.23c from 3.0.21b. As a result I can no longer browse shares on the samba server via \\hostname\share\. I can, however, access everything as usual via \\10.0.0.2\share\. Nothing else in my config has changed. The hostname resolves from all machines on the domain correctly so it's doesn't appear to be a name resolution issue. I can see the

About join domain in different subnet.
Hi all: I have a question about join domain. If my samba server and domain controller are in different subnet (such = as 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x), two conditions happened: ADS domain 1. if I use domain name, then join fail. 2. if I use IP address of domain controller, join success. However, in both cases I can't retrieve domain users/groups. Is it necessary for samba sever and domain

winbind cache time?
Hello, according to 'man smb.conf': Default: winbind cache time = 300 I have not changed it in smb.conf, but when I remove some user from some group, command "groups DOMAIN+user" still shows that user belongs to the group even after a few hours after removing the user from that group. Any ideas why? samba 3.0.15pre2. Regards, Nerijus

Samba as NT Domain Member via Winbind - After Upgrade users prompted for password for any shares
Hello, Apparently, I did a stupid thing today. I used apt-get on my Debian Woody system to upgrade my Samba packages from 3.0.2 to 3.0.6. Since doing so, all my users are prompted for a password when trying to access shares. Even just listing the IPC$, Windows XP systems prompt for user name and password. Windows 98 machines prompt for password. None are successful. I believe

Winbind group cache
Hi All, I have hit a snag with winbind's group caching on AD on one of our client's infrastructure. We have a client that is using AD groups to control ssh access to servers. The client is running a lot of different bugfix and build versions in the 3.6 branch all running on RHEL using rpm's. I have seen this issue cropping up in the ML from time to time and most of the solutions
