2 GB file size limit with libsmbclient and Filesys::SmbClient perl module?!
Hi, I have a 32-bit installation of Arch Linux and I have developed my own little script (in perl) for downloading files over SMB/CIFS using multiple TCP connections to speed up the transfer. I have googled a lot but could not find any good download accelerator for files hosted over SMB/ CIFS. For example, the DownThemAll firefox add-on allows you to download files hosted over SMB/ CIFS, but is

PATCH for filesys corruption in ext3 with data=journal
Hi, as I mentioned in earlier mail to ext3-users I have been getting some corruption on an ext3 filesystem that has been serving NFS. I am now confident that I fully understand the problem and have a patch. It only affects data=journal mode and I wonder if it might also be the cause of the corruption noted by a number of people on linux-kernel. First I will explain the problem. Then display

Problems accessing files with (lib)smbclient
Hi! Seems like I need some help with a really awkward problem I stumbled over today. In a remote access solution I developed, a Perl CGI script accesses a Windows NT 4.0 Server through Filesys::SmbClient and thus libsmbclient. Browsing the shares and the directories works perfectly but as soon as I try to get any file, it fails with a "Permission denied", even if I try it with the

Problem with Perl module, SmbClientParser-2.6
Hi, I'm trying to use SmbClientParser to implement a simple SMB crawler. After a lot of effort, I still could not get it to work. Here is my small test script: [CODE] #!/usr/bin/perl use POSIX; use Filesys::SmbClientParser; use DBI(); use Socket; use Sys::Hostname; use strict; my $host; my $smb = new Filesys::SmbClientParser (undef, ( user => '', password

Templates and self-knowledge
So, I''m into templating. I *like* templating. What I *don''t* like, of course, is to have to use multiple, similar templates for different output files. So, let''s work a concrete example. Suppose I have a template "standard_profile.erb" which looks like this: install_type initial_install > > system_type standalone > > partitioning

Re: samba 3.0.23a Cannot join network
I had the same problem after upgrading to 3.0.23a. I have one samba PDC running a basic setup back to the smbpasswd file, and one that runs OpenLDAP. The former did exactly as yours, and I ended up rolling back to version 3.0.23. On the latter, the smb process refused to run, reporting that it could not contact the database. I ended up having to remove all the database files and reinstall

Fedora Core 5 and Windows 98
Greetings All, My problem is trying to mount an SMB share from Fedora Core5 to a Windows 98 Machine. Before upgrading from FC4 to FC5 everything worked. I have searched around and it appears that the smbmount and mount -t smbfs options have been deprecated in Samba 3.0.22-1 in favor of CIFS. The command I have been trying now is: mount -t cifs //192.168.0.126/laptop /mnt/share -o username=chime

Samba ADS member: using local groups
Hi. I have problems using local groups on a SAMBA ADS member. I encountered the problem when I switched from Fedora Core 4 to Fedora Core 5. I'm using the FC5 samba-3.0.22-1.fc5 package. The SELinux is set to permissive mode (SELINUX=permissive), so this should not cause problems. I'm using same scripts for generating group mapping and add users to groups, as I used on FC4. The

Speex requirements on a TI Davinci / ARM926EJ-Sid(wb)
(Resending since the archive seems to have eaten the text.) I'm working on getting Speex running on a TI Davinci (6441), on both the ARM and the DSP. My immediate goal is to understand the processing requirements on different architectures so that I can properly specific an engineering project. I have it up and running on the ARM, and I just wanted to see if anyone could sanity-check
