share write access
Hi,
I am testing share parameters, and have the following share definition:
## Section - [shareA]
[shareA]
path = /tmp/shareA
writelist = user1
and do not understand why user1 cannot write files in the share when
connected as user1. Unix permissions for the share files are rw for
everyone, and the share directory has wide-open permissions. Samba version
is 3.0.20b-3.4-SUSE.

Fwd: Re: Migrate NT domain 4 to samba
I tried "net lookup dc" and samba PDC did not show.
The NT machine we have has been shut down and not functional
anymore. Right now, we only have one linux box with gentoo running samba
and we want it to be the PDC.
Thanks,
-Ivan

Problems adding a printer share
I have added an HP Deskjet 600 to my debian etch system, using CUPS. It is
working fine.
I would like to set it up so that I can occassionally print to it from a
Windows 9x machine. This is where I seem to be having trouble.
I consulted the HOW-TO docs on the samba site, but they are quite detailed
and confusing (for me).
I don't want to do anything that will cause the printer to work

Export Samba mount using nfs
Hello,
I have an Lacie NAS disk attached to an Gigabit network. Since it only exports samba I mounted on one
of my gigabit Linux boxes with
smbmount //lacie/terabyte /TERABYTE -o defaults,username=genuser,password=genuser
Now I need to export that to all my linux boxes not on the Gigabit network using nfs.
When I try to mount I get:

ldapsam:trusted=yes
Hi,
I am implementing a series of automated regressions tests for samba3. I
wish to incorporate the ldapsam:trusted=yes parameter into the testing, and
initially had some problems getting smbd to start up and play well with
clients.
I have discovered that the problem (I am using smbldap tools,
smbldap-populate in particular) is the existence of root and nobody users
in both /etc/passwd and the

I have not been able to find this exact problem on the mailing list;
apologize if I missed it.
I have tried both samba versions 3.0.20 and 3.0.21pre1.
The file share in smb.conf has these entries:
path = /home/samba/myshare
guest ok = no
read only = no
force create mode = 0644
force directory mode = 0775
The directory "myshare" has the following permissions:

net logon scripts not running
I am running Samba4 on a Debian/Jessie AD DC. I have a network netlogon
share with a single script in it. This .bat file is referenced in the
ADUC profile and I can navigate to the netlogon share and run it, where
it does what it is supposed to do.
However when I log onto the workstation, it never executes. For example,
it maps a drive but the drive is not mapped after a logon.

[PATCH] Make "xm mem-set" be lower bound on domX-min-mem
This patch causes "xm mem-set" to be lower bound on domX-min-mem option
in xend-config. Another configuration option called domU-min-mem has
been introduced, which works similarly to dom0-min-mem. This is prevents
users from freezing the system when doing "xm mem-set" on very low
values like 32M.
