Making HTML Help files in Version 64.0
Hi,
I am having trouble making the HTML help files for the installed packages in

For example in 63.3 this is expected behavior:

CentOS 5.0 install fails every time.
Hey all,
I've downloaded the latest CentOS 5.0 and the md5sums look good. I
loop-back mounted the ISOs and pulled all of the RPMs out into a
single dir. I have an existing PXE environment with several different
distros to which I added 5.0. RPMs are served from my HTTPS server.
I used the isolinux.cfg that was provided and all *looks* good.
The problem is that on 4 *very* different

[LLVMdev] ignoring inline assembly
I'm trying to use LLVM to do some semantic analysis of the Linux kernel
source code and am having issues with the inline assembly. At this juncture
I really don't care about what the inline assembly contains and I don't
intend to actually run the compiled version of the source, so if there is a
way I can tell LLVM to pretend the inline assembly isn't there that would be
fantastic.

I'm confused. What is winbindd supposed to get me?
I've got a Samba member server as part of a Windows NT domain. User accounts have the same name in both domain. I was having all sorts of trouble when winbindd was running with wierd groups showing up.
I happened to screw up the winbindd configuration without noticing causing it to crash, but I ran snmd and nmbd anyway and suddenly everything started working perfectly.
The docs say you

FW: Large datasets in R
Hi,
I have two further comments/questions about large datasets in R.
1. Does R's ability to handle large datasets depend on the operating
system's use of virtual memory? In theory, at least, VM should make the
difference between installed RAM and virtual memory on a hard drive
primarily a determinant of how fast R will calculate rather than whether or
not it can do the calculations.

How can Windows 2000 mount a share as a service?
I've asked every M$ expert I know, trolled through M$ TechNet, experimented
with SRVANY/INSTSRV login scripts which hard-code username/passwords to
login to a Samba 2.2.8a SMB server. I've experiment with and without the
"Allow service to interact with Desktop" switch turned on.
I am stuck. :( I can find no way to mount a share as a service, so that
IIS can serve web-pages

DVD-RAM writer software for CentOS4
Firstly, let me thank all of the individuals who assisted me in
various matters regarding find, tar and ssh last week. Your
contributions were truly invaluable and I learned a great deal
thereby. The reason for that brief flurry of activity was an
administrative and technical move to store-to-disc from store-to-tape
for our server backups.
We presently use a mix of store to disc on

Win2k-->Linux-->Epson777
Hello Family,
My RedHat-7.2 box prints perfectly to an Epson777 color injet
printer which I gave an IP address via a mini printserver attached
to the back of the printer.
I have a Windows2000 computer hooking into the same RedHat-7.2 box
via Samba-2.2.2 fine.
I have not been able to get my Windows2000 box to print to the
Epson777 color injet via Samba.

Moving from Splus to R - advice/opinions request from amanagement perspective
Hi Dave. I'll try to offer some feedback from a fellow non-stats guy
working in a business setting. I've not directly transitioned from S+
to R, but I've previously hit roadblocks with SAS and SPSS that
compelled me to investigate the S/R languages.
I think that as you read messages on this list, you'll find that most
users don't implement R as a back end to a chain of

Bug#398595: IPv6 is unusable with the network-bridge script
Package: xen-utils-3.0.3-1
Version: 3.0.3-0-2
Severity: important
After installing Xen and setting up
(network-script 'network-bridge netdev=eth0')
I no longer have a sane IPv6 address in the dom0:

This is probably since xenbr0 has a MAC address of

Fwd: SOLVED [cups] print_job: Unsupported format "application/octet-stream"
The attached message is 2001, but was the top of the list in a Google
search for the error message.
The same solution fixed a SuSE 9.3 Samba/Cups problem for a Brother
MFC 3360C printer.
Thanks!

Disable winbindd authentication while keep winbindd running
Hello
I have samba 3.0.13 running in ADS mode. For some specific reason I want
to disable winbindd authentication while I want winbindd keep running.
If I understood right - option "auth methods" would help to do that. But
I am not sure if this will not break existing services :
auth methods = guest sam
All users that authenticate are created locally in /etc/passwd file.
Can anybody

SOLVED [cups] print_job: Unsupported format "application/octet-stream"
Gustavo Courault <courault@gigared.com> has solved this for me with
the following advice and I have enclosed my smb.conf file in case it
may help anyone, I'm running Samba-2.2.2 and CUPS printing to a
Epson-777 injet via a Edimax $40 printserver attached to the back of
the printer with a static IP address assigned to the printer.
My OS is RedHat-6.2
