Win98 policies,profiles and logon scripts
I am running Samba 2.2.3a and have my users logging into the 'samba
domain'. My WinNT and WinXP users are working fine with roaming profiles
and policies. My problem is my Win98 users. The logon script doesn't seem
to be working, i.e. when I log onto a Win98 machine (logging into the
domain), the logon script doesn't run. I have opened up the permissions to
the logon script

test for multivariate normality?
My stat textbook tells me that using Shapiro-Wilk test for each variable
one by one is not equal to a test for multivariate normality as a whole.
Does R have a function of testing for multivariate normality? Thanks.

How to make a break on y-axis of a histogram chart using R?
Attached is a histogram chart with a break on y-axis which my friend made
for me using phot shop. Do anyone know how to make such a break using R?
Thanks in advance.

Form of the equation produced by a GLM with Poisson family and log link function
Hi everyone,
My background is not math and I am trying to figure out exactly what equation to use to map a response variable in GIS based on the coefficients obtained from the GLM and the values of the independent variables in each grid cell of my study area. Most specifically, I want to know how to incorporate the Poisson family and log link function in the equation. I would really appreciate if

Hey everyone, I'm trying version 1.0rc2, via the rpm at ATrpms. I'm running on CentOS
4.3 on an Opteron system. I have this running stably on a 32 bit system, but I'm
crashing constantly on a 64 bit system.
Here's what I'm getting in my mail logs when I try to log in via IMAP:

File types and performance
Hello,
I am wondering if Samba cares what types of files you are putting onto
the server and if this effects the performance of the server. Attempts
to copy various file types to my Samba 2.2.5 RH7.3 server have given
mixed results. I appreciate any help on this matter. Thank you.

Successful integration using Winbind - not a dream
Good Morning to All,
I have a Red Hat 7.3 box with Samba 2.2.5 successfully integrated
with a Windows 2000 domain. I am using a Win2K Domain Controller to
hold all of the user accounts. I use WebMin 1.0 for the administration
of my Linux box, and am able to pull up domain user accounts when
putting permissions on files on the RH machine. I used a combination of
resources to do this.

Won't see entire space on hard drive
Good Morning,
I have a Mandrake 9.0 machine with a shared folder configured for
public LAN access, with no special permissions on the folder. It is on
a RAID 5 array, and I have 36+ GB available on the disks. The folder is
located in the /usr partition. I am only able to see 4 GB max space
with this folder. Is there a space limitation with the /usr partition,
and if so, is this true of

Turn off border on barplot
I was wondering if there was any way to completely remove the borders
around each bar when using the barplot function. I understand how to
change the color of the border (border="white"), but I need the border
to be invisible so I can plot many skinny bars right next to each other
with only the bar's color visible.
Thanks,
Frank

Problems!
I setup samba on our Solaris 2.5 machine in ten minutes and everything
has worked wondefully.
Our linux box has been another story so I hope someone can help. We're
now running redhat 5.1 and samba 1.9.18p10-51.1 on a pentium 200. The
daemons appear to be running nicely. In going through the diagnosing
document, everything is great until step 4. I do nmblookup -B

Problems adding a user
I am having problems adding a user. Here is some background: OK this is my
first attempt to build a Samba server so be gentle.
Operating System: Fedora Core 3
Samba version: 3.0.10-1.fc3
I have set up a Stand-alone server to support my 4 client machines (all
WinXP boxes w/o a domain). I had some difficulties getting things to work
and eventually traced them down to a Firestarter

Help! Clients want a Linux server on their Win2K domain!
Hello All,
I am new to Linux and Samba, and have RH7.3 with Samba
2.2.5 installed on my Win2K domain (mixed mode). I am
testing RH7.3 as a file server so that I can integrate it
into one (for now only one) of our client's Win2K domains.
Running wbinfo I can retrieve a list of domain user and
group accounts, and in webmin when assigning permissions
to Samba shares I can choose these

Issues with sending HTML-mail
Hi,
Im running an application sending quite a few emails to members. Im
building the emails with your every day ActionMailer builders, setting
the content_type to "text/html" and charset to "utf-8".
Now im hearing reports from some of our members that the emails show up
as plain html-text in their clients. One such case is a user running
the DWmail web based email client.
