Over the weekend my workstation (still on CentOS 3) started showing SMART errors, so we shut it down and moved everything onto a new drive. On one of my systems I seem to loose a file or two from time to time. Last night, one of my files (/home/online/sh/NattjobbPrivat.sh) was deleted/removed/vanished. Another time it was /home/online/sh/daemon that was deleted. I've got several dozen Windows XP Pro computers in a Samba/Windows Domain. The problem is that with them being in the domain, automatic updates does not work on these computers. I think its because the people log into the computers with the default windows domain restrictions (you know, can't install anything, can't adjust the time on the clock, can't update drivers, etc).

I'd guess this is probably something pretty specific to my test box, but when I yum updated to 3.3 my rpmdb got totally hosed. Unfortunately, I didn't save the error that occured at the time because a rpm --rebuilddb _appeared_ to fix the problem.
