MIT Kerberos suddenly stopping
Hello, I'm using samba 4.7.3 to run an AD and I'm currently having issues with the MIT kerberos because it stops some time after starting (and apparently working correctly) without logging nothing out of the ordinary. My setup has 2 DC: one in an ubuntu 12.04 with version 4.1.9 (which we're migrating from) and the one I mentioned in CentOS 7 (which will be the only DC in the future).

Update successful. Thanks.
My desktop updated without a hitch... well, actually, I ran out of disk space after the download completed, so had to clear some space, but the update process continued from where I left off without a hitch -- and that's hardly CentOS's fault. I've still got to update my laptop, but am a little leery, because I think I've a got a hard drive failing. At any rate, thank you *again*

syslinux 5.01 serial regression...
Hi HPA et al, When moving from syslinux 4.06 to 5.01, I found serial output isn't working. The issue reproduces simply [1] and I get back serial output when I move back to syslinux 4.06. I also see a regression in booting locally with 'localboot 0' which give a generic 'failed' error message; likely reproducible there also. Let me know if you need more information and

CentOS 5 Beta Feels Snappier
Hi, Is it me or is CentOS 5 faster than FC6? I just switched and it seems that CentOS 5 loads faster and overall feels snappier. Could Red Hat have optimzed EL more than Fedora?. Just curious. I really like what I see with CentOS 5. The devs have done a great job making a profesisonal looking distro. An of course kudos to Red Hat for all the engineering and for making the SRPMS available. attempt to access beyond end of device and livelock
Hi Dongyang, Yan, When testing BTRFS with RAID 0 metadata on linux-3.3, we see discard ranges exceeding the end of the block device [1], potentially causing dataloss; when this occurs, filesystem writeback becomes catatonic due to continual resubmission. The reproducer is quite simple [2]. Hope this proves useful... Thanks, Daniel --- [1] attempt to access beyond end of device ram0: rw=129,

1.0alpha3: fcntl() complaints?
Hi, Since installing 1.0alpha3 this morning, I've seen this syslog complaint a few times. Anything to worry about? A "server too busy" issue? imap(user): fcntl() failed with mbox file /var/mail/user: Resource temporarily unavailable Jeff Earickson Colby College

SSDs and filesystem alignment...
Does BTRFS perform any journal and/or filesystem structure alignment (for benefit to SSD longevity and SSD, RAID array and large-sector device performance) at present? ext4''s Ted Tso will deliver 128KB alignment with the next release of e2fsprogs (ie 1.41.4) [1], so perhaps it''s a good idea for btrfsprogs also, if not already available? TDB functionality document
Hi, Does someone know a document which explains the TDB structure. functionalites, and format of the TDB files etc. I need to understand why some of the TDBs like messages.tdb, unexpected.tdb, brlock if not read_only, locking.tdb, session.tdb, wins.tdb are called with TDB_CLEAR_IF_FIRST tdb flags. Why some TDBs are opend with O_RDWR|O_CREAT flags viz. gencache.tdb, group_mapping.tdb,

Bug? 1.0.0-test28 NFS locking problems
Hi Slight problem - linux 2.4 running dovecot, Solaris 2.8 home directory server. Full lockd support etc. I had to make the following code patches (at end of mail for clarity) to get dovecot to read the users mbox files at all. 1) fcntl with F_SETLKW will not work against a Solaris 2.8 server as proved with a small test program. Other forms of fcntl (ie F_SETLK) are OK. I noticed there are

nouveau Macbook EDID fix upstreaming...
It looks like Ryan's Nouveau patch [1,2] to get the I2C working for EDID (thus modelines) is crucial for avoiding the Nvidia binary drivers on MacbookPro 2012s. Any plans/chance for it to be upstreamed to eg 3.6-rc3? tdbbackup with bouncing/shutting down samba possible?
Hi, We are a small company, which has just started using samba. Recently we have faced a few issues regarding the TDBs getting corrupted. I have read that the only way of getting around this issue, is to regularly take tdbbackups. But, this process needs a downtime of my samba server, which we would not want. Instead, is there a way where I can take the tdbbackup with out shutting down samba

[PATCH] nouveau: Fix crash after D3
In 3.7-rc4, when starting X with the integrated GPU and suspending the discrete GPU, after one or more 32-bit applications are used (eg Skype) and X is stopped, we hit a panic. Prevent this by testing if the fini function is valid.
