Problem: authorise_login: refusing user with no session setup
Hi, We are running Samba-2.2.6pre2 as a PDC with Win2kSP2-clients and we had the same problem running samba-2.2.5 and Win2k. We had NT4-client running previous versions of samba-2.2.x and have never had the same problem. Samba is compiled from source on Solaris8 running YP. We have everything up and running but sometimes users get a dialog-box just saying "Access denied" when they

Notebook cannot open session when disconnected after samba PDC upgrade
Hello, I have a problem with my XP SP2 notebook user after a server upgrade. I was running a samba 3.0.14a-3 on a debian server with PDC settings, I'd have to change the server, and now I'm running a samba 3.0.24-ubuntu1.2 on a ubuntu feisty server. But now, when my notebook users are disconnected from the network and can't reach the samba/PDC server, they can't open a

How to put a limit on the number of simultaneous session that a user can open ?
Hi list, I'm using Samba 3.0.4 on FreeBSD 5.2.1 as PDC for nt4 clients. Is it possible to set a limit concerning the number of parallel session that a domain user can open ? My goal is to allow only one session per user. How do I map user accounts on multiple servers to a single Samba PDC?
Is there a slick way to map user accounts on multiple servers to a single Samba PDC? I have my Windows NT user accounts split across two FreeBSD/Samba servers, call them red and blue, with a Windows NT 4.0 PDC "above." The Windows User Manager database allows me to specify which server each user is on, individually. As a user logs on, the Windows PDC passes their session the location of

Good afternoon. I cannot seem to get my test samba (domain member) server to use a windows 2003 PDC, SJMEMDC40. Are there any outstanding issues with a win2003 PDC and a samba domain member server? Folder redirection and "guest user (from session setup) not permitted to access this share" in logs
Hello, sambadmins. First some background. Server is (soon to be dist-upgraded) Debian Lenny 64-bit and samba version is 3.5.6~dfsg-3~bpo50+1. Samba as PDC, LDAP as passdb backend, pam/nss uses same ldap on Linux side, so all ID-s are "in sync". Locks settings are default. Windows XP SP3 as clients. Few weeks ago I started to see following in logs: [2011/06/08 15:17:51.766871, 2]

ANNOUNCE: log-user-session (full SSH session auditing)
log-user-session is shell-wrapper that can be used via ForceCommand to implement full logging of user sessions. It supports the following features: - Flexible directory structure for the shell output log files. - Support setuid-mode to write the files as another user. - Properly starts the user shell as login shell. - Optionally log only the command line of remote commands instead of the full

user engine session id re-generating on post
I get a redirect from user_engine when using curl -i -X POST -d "<xml_data></xml_data>" http://<webpage>?_session_id=ABC If I use curl http://<webpage>?_session_id=ABC the GET works fine.If it was a routing issue, I would expect the GET not to work.I also removed the -i, but no difference. I''m using if request.post? --- end if request.get? --- end

Samba & Windows session limits
Hi, I'm trying to figure out a problem related to accessing Windows shares from Linux samba clients (either smbfs or libsmbclient). According to Microsoft, there is a limit to the number of open incoming sessions that Windows XP/2000 will permit at one time: the limit is 5 for XP Home, and 10 for XP Pro. The XP "net session" command shows the open sessions. Microsoft says that

Samba 3.0b3 PDC - XP user descriptions
Hi all. I have (another) little question about XP and Samba 3.0b3 acting as PDC. When I press CTRL+ALT+DEL in my XP Client I see the message: ",,, has started session as BOOGERSOFT\Boogerman" (BOOGERSOFT is my domain, and Boogerman is my username). I also see the ",,," in the top of XP's start menu (when using XP's startmenu instead of the "classic" start
