Domain problem...
Hello all, This is the first time I write to the list. Sorry about my
english...
My Debian Sarge server was working perfectly with samba and winbind as a
normal client in a Domain enviroment. I was able to share folders on my
linux machine giving rights to the domain users. Everything was working
until one day in that it crashed for some reason I don't know. I didn't

wbinfo -a always failing with NT_STATUS_WRONG_PASSWORD
Hello!
Please help! I have been googling and experimenting for the past few
days, but I can't get user authentications to work with my AD domain.
Fedora Core 2 running Samba 3.0.7-2.FC2
Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition
After much fuss, I was able to get it to join the domain (had to
disable client signing).
"wbinfo -u" and "wbinfo -g" both work fine, and I can see

AD authentication problem
I'm having a problem authenticating to Active Directory. I can join
the machine to the domain, wbinfo -g/-u will list the groups and users
and I can map a drive using: smbclient -k //s-lorentz.s-res.uva.nl/c\$
However when I try to get the linux machine to authenticate a user
it doesn't work giving the error NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS

NT_STATUS_NO_LOGON_SERVERS if Domain Controller is absent
I have my Samba 3.0.21c Linux Server as Domain member (security=ADS) so
that domain users can use the Samba Server as shared file server.
Everything works nice if the domain controller is present, e.g.

Cannot Authenticate against AD ...
Hey all,
I have a Windows 2000 AD PDC that hosts a domain. He also trusts our
existing Windows NT domain (2-way trust, they both trust each other). I
also have a Gentoo Linux machine that I have compiled Samba 3.0 on. I
can get almost everything to work with regards to talking to the Windows
2k PDC, like this:
mccoy samba # wbinfo -u

ntlm_auth: (pipe \PIPE\NETLOGON) has died or was never started (fd == -1)
I'm exeperiencing a strange ntlm_auth problem:
I'm running two domain with a trust; the trusting one,
(EUFEMIA with the PDC Beatrice) uses the WINS facility of
the trusted one (LETTERE, PDC Alice).
Users of EUFEMIA and LETTERE alike have a successful logon to
Beatrice.
LETTERE users do authenticate in Beatrice with ntlm_auth.
EUFEMIA users do not:

Accessing a user mailbox from another user
Hello,
I'm looking for something maybe similar to master password but for
final users and I don't know if there is already a way I could do it
with dovecot.
I have accounts that are used by a set of users who know their
password. But I now want to remove this shared password and the users
has to access to this shared account with their own password.

How to use Master Users.
Hi.
I'm testing out the new 'master users' feature, and I'm not having any
luck getting it to work. Anyone out there using it yet?
Here's what I have so far:

shown in error logs. wbinfo -t does not work.. returns the following errors.
A few hot fixes were applied to domain controlers as well as SP4. No changes
were made to samba server.

samba doesn't map to guest account
Hi group,
now after 6 hours non-stop trying to solve this issue I decided to
contact the list!
I actually just want to mount an samba share as guest via "mount -t cifs

I tried the following (and many else)
mount -t cifs //172.16.0.3/ebooks /mnt/ebooks -o guest
mount -t cifs //172.16.0.3/ebooks /mnt/ebooks -o
