Unable to join domain: FAIDHC01SDCG0402
Hi. I am trying to configure Samba in Domain security mode. I am on a Sun box running Solaris 9 and Samba 3.0.23. A computer account for this Unix Box is configured in the AD Domain (FAFIDDOM) but I am having issues running net rpc join. I am not planning to use winbind as the samba shares that I want to create are going to be used by ClearCase (Rational Configuration Management Tool). ClearCase

listing groups not working
Im having some problems with the samba 3.0.24 in Debian Etch when I try to list the groups, like this: wbinfo -g or net rpc group -U username All the times the output of the command is... "NOTHING". In samba 3.0.14 (Sarge), this works OK. I don't try in a newer version of samba. I test this with the debug on -d 4 with the rpc command and this is the ouput (see attached files).

Getting users and groups through winbind on FreeBSD
Hi We have a few Linux samba servers that authenticate against our Active Directory domain (Small Business Server 2000). I've added a couple of disks to a FreeBSD 6.1 server in our office and I'm trying to achieve the same but not having much luck. I'm new to all this... I'm not our network admin, but he is BSD-phobic so I thought it was safer to do it myself.

windbind stopped working
I recently upgraded my PDC's and BDC's to 3.0.14a but my member servers are still running 3.0.10. Today users complained that the couldn't logon to the member server. When I try to run a wbinfo -u I get: Error looking up domain users Here's the log.windbindd: 2005/05/31 11:06:26, 4] param/loadparm.c:lp_load(3933) pm_process() returned Yes [2005/05/31 11:06:26, 3]

Change user Password with smbpasswd
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 "samba-tool user setpassword" works fine, but I don't want all "normal" Users to connect to the Domaincontroller to change their password. So I tried it with smbpasswd as it was mentioned in many places. I know that smbpasswd is normaly for NT-Domains but somehow also an AD-User must be able to change his password. passwd is

The command *net rpc join -U Administrator* fails with the errors below. palpatine:/var/lib/samba/sbin # net -d 4 rpc join -U Administrator [2004/06/09 15:13:35, 3]

Errors "Domain password server not available" and "SPNEGO login failed: The request is not supported"
Hi, I am running an Ubuntu 14.04 server with Samba 2:4.3.11+dfsg-0ubuntu0.14.04.14, which just provides storage services to the network. It is configured to use an existing Active Directory infrastructure based on Windows servers. Since some weeks I am experiencing issues with accessing the network shares served by Samba (no matter which client/operating system). Connection/mounting attempts

samba3 and kerberos authentication of users
Hi all, this is probably VFAQ, but I never found a working solution. I have a standalone samba server running samba ver. 3. In the network, we have heimdal kerberos used to authenticate users for pop3,imap,web-based applications etc. Now I would like to make the samba communicating with kerberos kdc so there will no longer be users in smbpasswd with separate passwords outside of kerberos. NT_STATUS_TRUSTED_RELATIONSHIP_FAILURE with Server 2008R2
I am having problems implementing Samba using security=domain against a Windows 2008R2 server. I have been able to successfully join the domain via a net rpc join. Anytime I try to access a share through smbclient I get a NT_STATUS_TRUSTED_RELATIONSHIP_FAILURE but nothing in the logs (on either side) seems to be giving me any leads on where to look. The system is locked down to allow NTLv2

Can not connect to share "NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME"
I have Suse 9.1 + Samba 3.0.9 + winbind joined to a Windows 2000 AD domain "MyCompany". Yesterday for some unknown reason (appears to be Win2K issue) connections to Samba and the ability to browse the domain "MyCompany" from Win2K/XP workstations failed but connections to the public share offered by the Win2K server were OK. What is WERR_ACCESS_DENIED
Hi, I searched through the list archives and saw this question asked but not answered, so I'm hoping someone can help me. I am trying to use rpcclient to set a printer driver and it's failing with the error message: WERR_ACCESS_DENIED. I've included the full output of the command at debug 4 level below. Here's the probably pertinent information. First, this use to work.

A port scan shows that exactly the same ports are opened. Here is my smb.conf workgroup = CITY server string = Cube file sharing netbios name = cube
