Dos client samba
I am trying to put some DOS clients to access a samba server.
I try to use the Microsoft Network Client 3.0 and the Microsoft Lan Manager.
With them I can log into the samba server, and use the conection as normal.
But when i use it with a high data transfer, somebody, the client or the samba server disconnect.
Somebody have any experience with dos clients?
Thank you in advance

Logon fails
Hello List,
I have a network consisting of several Win2K Pro, WinXp Home, WinXp Pro
Clients, a Linux Server with Samba 3 and a MS Small Business Server 2003.
The Linux Server authenticates domain users using winbind. That works
fine and all users can Login to the linux box using FTP, SSH, ...
The only thing that doesn't work is connecting to samba shares.
For some time I got the messages

Windows clients can not login to Samba PDC
I have a Samba PDC set up on SuSE 9.1 with LDAP backend. I am trying to login
to the domain from Win2K/XP clients. The Windows clients easily joined the
domain, but can never login. Also, I can access all the Samba shares when
logged in locally on a Windows client.
I have omitted a copy of smb.conf as I have tried the things mentioned by
Samba Team members to no avail.

RE : SYSLINUX 2.07-pre6 and memdisk decompression problems
Hi,
I tested this version and it works all right ! Thanks a lot for the quick fix.
Do you still want to see the output in order to check everything is OK, or you don't need it ?

Hi!
I tried accessing a Samba server 3.0.2a from a PDA (Dell Axim X5) with

3.0.25a closing network drive connections?
Since upgrading from 3.0.24 to 3.0.25a this past weekend, network
drive connections are randomly being closed and immediately reopened.
This creates "Delayed write failed" errors for Firefox and
Thunderbird, various errors for Outlook with its PST files on network
drives, and errors from programs like InDesign that "The network

Samba-3 / ADS problems with trusted domain
Hello,
I'm running Mandrake 9.2 and Samba-3.0.2a
I'm connecting a Samba Server as a Domain member to an 2003 ADS, called TEST2. I've been able to create the computer account. I've also tested successfully, from Chapter 7 of ' Samba HOWTO Collection' with a W2K client logon/mount a share from the samba server using Kerberos. The testing of the smbclient was also

Can't add new domain members to Samba PDC
Dear Samba List,
I have been running a Samba PDC (Win 2000 & XP Clients) for about 1 year
without problems. Now I find I cannot add new PCs to the domain,
existing accounts are working fine.
It seems to be a rights issue, but I am not sure quite how to analyse it.
All attempts to add a computer account result in "unknown user or wrong
password" (translated from German, may not be

Authentication via PAM posixAccounts in RH EL ASv3
To anyone who can help,
I'm trying to setup samba to authenticate through PAM (ldap) but can't
find /consistent/ documentation for this.
POP/IMAP/ and local login works via pam_ldap, and samba was compiled
--with-pam.
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had any joy with this setup.

AD auth with lowercase domain name
Hi All,
I'm having issues getting Samba/Winbind to work with a domain that is
lowercase. I have read on some sites that it won't work, is this the
case?
system is Debian lenny, samba 3.2.5-4. Windows server is 2003 running AD
in 2000 native mode.
I've done everything I would normally do that my running samba/ad
authing servers do, and wbinfo -u + wbinfo -g work fine, as do the
