Dear All I am facing a strange problem that I could not solve, so, maybe you can help me. Look at this situation: I created a new directory with those ACLs (through Samba using Windows XP) [root@server /home/smb/adm]# getfacl teste #file:teste #owner:1002 #group:1006 user::rwx group::rwx group:suporte:rwx group:administ:rwx mask::rwx other::--- [root@server /home/smb/adm]# getfacl -d teste

User groups
Wlcome in the club :-) I wrote a topic "Limit of group membership for a user?" with the same problem, and I don't have any answer by the samba team. I have the most recent Samba 3.0.21b, OpenLDAP 2.2.28 and Glibc 2.3.6 version on a Gentoo (kernel 2.6.15) and I have the same problem. I check the NGROUP_MAX (65535) and the NSS_BUFLEN_GROUP (2048) value of the glibc. For the AMD64

Hello, since the update to Samba 3.0.25b Clients which have offline files enabled - typically notebooks - are sporadical loosing their network drives. listing groups not working
Im having some problems with the samba 3.0.24 in Debian Etch when I try to list the groups, like this: wbinfo -g or net rpc group -U username All the times the output of the command is... "NOTHING". In samba 3.0.14 (Sarge), this works OK. I don't try in a newer version of samba. I test this with the debug on -d 4 with the rpc command and this is the ouput (see attached files).

Hi all. I've made this question over and over, but still no answer till now. So here goes again, maybe I have better luck this time. I've found out that if the user belongs to more than 60 to 70 groups, group-based share access stop working. >From another post in this ml, i've found out that kernel 2.4.xx had

group membership limitations and Linux
Hi all, I was hoping someone here would be willing to clear up some confusion we're having about group membership limits and linux. While trying to use a file server solution in an AD environment using OpenLDAP / sasl / Samba 2.2.x, we ran into the issue that when trying to import/re-create group membership, we reach a limit at 32 groups. It is my understanding that this is a limitation

AD group membership limits?
Hello All, I read a post on patching kernel 2.4.x to get more groups. I currently cannot upgrade my RHEL3 as RHEL4 is not supported but need to take advantage of additional groups over 32. I read a similar post that a patch more_groups_simple.patch can be applied. I have no success in patching though.. linux-2.4]# patch -p1 --dry-run -i more_groups_simple.patch Just wondering if anyone

AD group membership limits?
Hi, I'm running Samba 3.0.11 on RedHat ES 3 kernel version 2.4.21-15.0.4.ELsmp and have a quick question about AD group membership limits Am I right in assuming that Samba is limited by the group membership parameters (ie NGROUP = 32) imposed by the Linux kernel? Is there any workaround in Samba for this? At the moment if a user is a member of more then 32 domain groups they cannot access
