Ok, we've got a new machine that's throwing ECC errors. I've gotten new
memory overnighted to me from the manufacturer, and replaced it, oops, not
that end of the bank, as their support told me, this end of the bank, as
the mobo manual I found online shows (Supermicro).
Still throwing errors. Ok, try to get more info.... Last week, I moved
/var/log/mcelog to /var/log/mcelog.1, and

Network Problem after update 3.0 -> 3.1: blkback
Hello,
I have a big problem:
Dom0 is centos5.1, domU are centos5.1. My setup is really simple, the
only thing is that I give 3 nics to the domU so I use a modified network
script (which has worked since january... since fedora 6):
"
#!/bin/sh
dir=$(dirname "$0")
"$dir/network-bridge" "$@" vifnum=0
"$dir/network-bridge" "$@" vifnum=1

Network frozen in Centos 5 with Xen
Hello,
I have this problem - I have installation of Xen and Centos 5 (all RPMs are from Centos repositories).
I have several DomU virtual machines running on this machine.
When I try to copy some bigger amount of data from another physical computer to Dom0/DomU on this machine, the network freezes. The link is still up, I can see that the connection really links on the switch, but nothing is

Hi all,
I'm having issue with my Centos 5.1 /Xen installation.
I'm having 2 dom0 running 2.6.18-53.1.4.el5xen (x86_64).
These two dom0 are connected to a SAN.
These two dom0 hosts multiple domU like Centos 4.5 (2.6.9-55.0.9.ELxenU)
and Centos 5.1 (2.6.18-53.1.4.el5xen).
These two dom0 run ntpd to synchronize dom0 time.
When i start a virtual machine on the first dom0 all seems good, the

Xen / NUMA problems
Hi folks,
we are using a Tyan TK8W 2885 Mainboard (latest BIOS) w/ 2 Dual Core Opteron 280EE and 8GB of RAM (4GB per Socket). Furthermore we run CentOS 5.1 w/ Xen 3.2.1. (build from SRPM). We also tried 3.2.0.
I tried both, the CentOS 5.1 Xen Kernel as well as the latest RHEL 5.2 Kernel but we do not get two NUMA domains as we (in my opinion) are supposed to.
Do we need to recompile anything?

extremely low performance on Samba 4.2.14-Debian
Hi everyone,
here's my problem: I have a fast server (dual Xeon E5-2620, 64 GB RAM)
with a fast RAID array (24 disks, RAID-6, more than 2GB/s read/write
local performance, XFS filesystem) and fast network : dual 10GigE
(myri10g) and 40GigE (i40e).
It's running Debian 8.11, tried various kernel versions (currently
4.4.x, but 4.9 isn't any better).
It's slow as dead snails in

PAE Kernel doesn´t boot
hi @all,
i?m having big problems implementing a pae-kernel.
i?m using centos5 on following hw
intel core2duo 2,66 e6750
gigabyte p35-ds3p board
8 gb ram
4 * samsung_sata_hd501lj
nvidia geforce 8500gt
i can use a xen-pae kernel without having problems, but as i need to run
vmware, it?s not a valid option to keep that kernel.
the default kernel (which supports only up to 4gb ram) works fine,

centos5/xen does not see all memory
I have a server with 6 gigs of memory. CentOS5/Xen sees only half of
it. Could someone advice me how to get it recognize all my memory?
I have installed 32bit CentOS5 and I'm running
kernel-xen-2.6.18-8.1.8.el5. This kernel should have PAE support:
$ grep PAE /boot/config-2.6.18-8.1.8.el5xen
CONFIG_X86_PAE=y
But xentop reports only 3 gigs of memory:
Mem: 3145148k total, 2400512k used,

sw raid issue with C5.10-xen
My raid array won't boot, gives a kernel panic - attempt to kill init
message and goes into endless reboots.
MB is a supermicro 2P with opteron 2376 4-core cpus, centos sw raid,
installed C5.3, updated as possible, currently c5.10. 5 seagate 750GB
drives as raid-10 and hot spare. we set this up about 5 years ago and
IIRC we set aside the first 10GB on drive 0 as a boot partition.
