Problem cooperating with Windows and AD
Hi, I'm having a problem getting my Windows machines to access shares in Samba. When they browse to the Samba box it sometimes gives them an error saying that they don't have permission or that the server is unavailable. However this doesn't always happen and other times it lists the shares. When I try to access the shares it just prompts for the username/password over and over.

user can't logon to specific computer: creds_server_check failed
A few computers -- two or three -- are very spotty about letting people log on. It seems -- and this could be off-base -- that they'll let anyone log on once, but will require a reboot before you can log on again. Sometimes, logging on works fine, though. There really appears to be little rhyme or reason to what happens. In the Samba logs, I'm getting: [2006/10/20 08:08:14, 0]

Hi there, I have a problem connecting from a Windows XP x64 Edition machine (nettle) to a Samba server (zeus). Check the spelling and try again, or try searching for the item by clicking the Start button and then clicking

corrupt files... oplocks?
Suddenly in the past week we have been having users who share excel files via our Samba complain that the file has become corrupt, and also some database files (Orcad .tdb database files). Fortunately there has in each instance been a good copy in the .recycler... so far. I came across some docs and threads in the net about oplocks. I did find an error in the samba log: [2008/04/14 10:19:05,

samba in NATed network
We have about 300 users distributed on different vlans using private ip network spaces, and sharing one single public IP when going out to the Internet. Our samba (3.0.24) server has a pulbic IP and is running as a primary domain controller. All clients receive Sambas's public IP as their WINS server. I am able to join the domain but samba stops responding sporadically. Looking at the

Cannot access share tevent_req_timedout
Hi all, I am running an smbclient 3.4.7 on a ubuntu server 10.04. This is a local network whose hostnames in the network are setup manually through /etc/hosts. Zeus is a server which contains a music share which I am trying to access. I haven't created any users or passwords. The idea is that anyone within the local network should be able to access the share with read permissions, so I

Problems with MGE ESV 8+ and NUT 2.0.3
Hello, I recently had a failure with my old MGE ESV8 ups, it just died on me so I had to get a new one. I found a MGE ESV8+ cheap and everything seems to work fine with it except the communication with the computer. The old ESV8 (non +) worked fine with NUT after applying some patches I got from the mailing list, but I think they are in the source tree now. I'm using the same cable that
