How to mount NT share & maintain NT share permission via SMB for LTSP user??
When a regular user (say, "jmc") logs onto my Linux (LTSP, Samba, DHCP) server via his LTSP terminal I need an NT drive share to be mounted with the permissions that NT intends. Our NT file print server has a directory named "private" which contains subdirectories for each user. Each user has NT read/write permissions to his/her private subdir and no others. I need for each

RJS render errors when user clicks away before render completes
We have an issue where we are using RJS templates to render the results of Ajax calls. Everything works fine so long as the user waits for the render to occur. However, if the user initiates the request and the RJS template is still in the process of rendering, but hasn''t completed, and the user clicks a different link, then we get a Javascript alert popup "Unexpected Server

IE rendering of Sliders
Small point, has anyone noticed that the sliders don''t render properly in IE 6.0? http://wiki.script.aculo.us/scriptaculous/show/SliderDemo I''ve dabbled with the HTML and CSS and got ''em to render properly in IE 6 (and IE 5.5... yes, I know...) .slider-track { width:50px; height:5px; background-color:gray; position:relative; /* IE fix */ } .slider-handle

3.86-pre1 gpxelinux.0 SIS900 long boot time / fails to boot / no entries in tftp server log
Okay guys, This is separate from my last few messages. Along with those attempts, I decided to migrate from pxelinux.0 to gpxelinux.0 in my existing setup. Admittedly I haven't tried previous gpxelinux.0's but I am willing to if someone thinks it would be useful. Everything works as expected with pxelinux.0 of the same version. With gpxelinux.0: TFTP Prefix: Trying to load:

Mounting smbfs as guest at boot time
I have searched for a solution to my problem, and have only found one short discussion which mentioned it (http://samba.cadcamlab.org/lists/samba/Aug2001/msg00364.html), and I didn't feel it contained a resolution I could use. In a nutshell, I want to mount an win2k share as 'guest' at boot time on a linux web server.[1] It just won't work any way that I've tried it. I can

How to troubleshoot network woes with Wine?
The app which I am currently trying to get to work properly (Cinema4D network rendering client - it does work 90%, depending on how you look at it) does some weird things, like receiving jobs from a server, computing them, and sending the rendered scenes back to the server (actually I don't know if it's sending them back, or if the server is fetching them; I don't even know what the

Render time
Hi, I''m loading a heck of a lot of data into a mammoth page. The database hit takes about 0.2 seconds but then the page rendering ends up taking around 20 seconds. Any ideas to how I can get this rendering time down? The page layout is simple and I''m using a minimum of markup. The page needs to show all the data so I can''t just paginate through it. Do I just need to

render rhtml templates in worker
I''m trying to make a worker that will render a large page to a file, very similar to what rails'' builtin cacheing does except with the rendering done outside of rails. The only advice I''ve found is to use ActionController::Integration::Session.new but this doesn''t seem to allow setting session variables the way the functional tests do. Is there a way to
