NIC binding on host and pass through to guests
Hi,
I've just joined the list because of questionnaire in the forum [1].
The hardware is AMD-V(IOMMU) capable and is enabled in the BIOS with 3
NICs. I currently have host Windows 2008 R2 installed but binds
(network services and protocols) on NIC3 only. My guests on VMWare
workstation (has bridged network service bound on all 3 NIC) has
bridged 3 NICs for the guests where NIC1 is WAN, NIC2

Re: Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
Hi, I'm not sure what sort of diagram you mean, but I'll have a try. Does
this help? It sounds like I need to do something to enable routing on what
I've labelled "NIC3" on the diagram - can you please explain what I need to
do?

Re: Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
Hi Ajey, I thought I already was doing bridge mode. Below are the network
interface definitions from the XML config file for the Sophos VM. (Note
that it's actually the middle definition which is connected to the cable
modem which is different to how I showed it in the earlier diagram). What I
don't understand is that the interface type says "direct" in the XML even

Re: Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
does you cable modem give you automatically the IP address? if thats the case then you need to do bridge configuration between nic3 and macvtap dhcp ip
and then you will be able to get dhcp attached IP to sophos vm

Hi Phil,
But you said you disabled firewalld which makes me wonder if you have the
necessary forwarding rules active.

New Project: AskoziaPBX
Greetings everyone,
I've been working on a (yet another) "all-in-one" Asterisk based
project. It is aimed at embedded / low power systems (but scales fine
on more capable hardware) and is based on Asterisk 1.4.x and FreeBSD
6.2. Because of this, I've mostly been hanging out on the asterisk-bsd
list as bugs rolled in and the system's features were improved. We're

Re: Vote For CentOS :) -- yes, vote CentOS if it's what you like

Disclaimer: This is 100% my _opinion_ (don't take it otherwise)
1. Credit
At some point a lot of credit can go to a lot of projects.
Yes, many are thanx to Red Hat -- by far the largest of any commercial entity.
But then many are thanx to many maintainers in general.

TDMoE implementation suggestions
I have a T400P in my main building M and am going to put asterisk boxes in
two buildings A & B. I already have our wan on fiber running between the
buildings (including some extra strands) and the distance is beyond straight
Ti distance so I would need csu... to use copper. It occurred to me that I
could use TDMoE - and it may be less costly. My assumption is that the best

ADSL routers with integrated SIP QoS for other devices
Greetings list,
Thanks to all who replied to my thread a few days ago "SIP devices with packet loss tolerance". One of the suggestions that came out of that thread was to replace routers at users' premises with ones that support QoS.
I've used m0n0wall's QoS in the past with reasonable success, but it's quite a bulky and complex setup for deploying to remote sites which

Can't get cable connection working on virtual router machine
I'm pretty new to KVM and have a KVM CentOS 7.1 hypervisor running a few
VMs. I'm moving all my VMs from an ESXi host as I want to use KVM in
future. Most of my VMs are working except for one which is running a Sophos
UTM router (Sophos UTM is similar to products like pfSense
<https://www.pfsense.org/>, Smoothwall <http://www.smoothwall.org/> etc).
The host has 3 physical NICs

[LLVMdev] SSA failed on alias
Hi guys, I'm new to LLVM and trying demo with the following C code:
int main()
{
int a = 65535;
*(1+(char *)a) = 0;
return a;
}
unfortunately it generates the wrong IR:
define i32 @main() nounwind {
entry:
store i8 0, i8* inttoptr (i64 65536 to i8*), align 65536
ret i32 65535
}
seems SSA not applied on memory but incorrectly 'acrossed' by scalar values.
Is it a bug?

Samba-LDAP PDC - Disjoint uids required for different ou's?
Specifically what I am asking is, if I have a computer named ralph$ who
is uidNumber 678 in ou=Computers and I have a user who is uidNumber 678
in ou=People, will this cause problems? Must the different sets of
uidNumbers be disjoint acrossed different ou's?

Samba LDAP - bug in ldapsync.pl
In the course of correcting directory references for Mandrake in
smbldap-tools I came acrossed the following:
samba-2.2.7a/examples/LDAP/ldapsync.pl
on line 72 we have:

On Mandrake this would be:

question about documentation for the new beta 4 of ice cast
I have been reading the README for icecast beta 4 and I came acrossed a
line that isn''t very explicit can some one explain to me what needs to
happen here?
You WILL need to edit the config file you choose to use before running
this application. When documentation is revised tthis may be a good thing
to be a little more explicit on.

timezones not properly reflected on timestamps of files
I have read the documentation, performed the diagnostic tests, checked
the archives, so if the answer is there, please accept my apologies in
advance and simply direct me.
I am running redhat Linux 2.0.3 and using smbmount to mount several
directories from NT3.51 servers which are distributed gloablly in
different timezones. Once mounted the files all have local timestamps
which makes syncing

web meetme instructions
This has to be the worst documentation I have ever come acrossed. I have
found two or three docs on how to install it, but they are all so
different and make huge assumption about what packages you have
installed and locations of files. Has anyone seen something better, I
want to get this working it is quite a cool app.
