Username map and UNIX UID assignments - my findings
Background: I'm trying to make sure my Unix and NT users are being assigned the correct UID from both platforms so they own files correctly from both sides. I was hoping to avoid username maps since our users with cross platform access already have matching usernames on both sides (or will when we reconfigure). I've been playing with several parameters, and fixed some things, but I did

Problem downloading webpages using batchfiles and RCurl from command line in Vista Basic - couldn't connect to host
Dear all, I am having a problem downloading webpages through R when i run it in the DOS window under Windows Vista Basic. I have downloaded the batchfiles from http://code.google.com/p/batchfiles/ and have successfully set the PATH. I open up 'Command Prompt' in Vista and type (after the C:\...> stuff): ### START ### C:\Users\Karen>Rscript -e "library(RCurl);

GAM quasipoisson in MuMIn - SOLVED
Hi, Got my issues sorted. Error message solved: I heard from the guy who developed MuMIn and his suggestion worked. "As for the error you get, it seems you are running an old version of MuMIn. Please update the package first." I did (I was only 1 version behind in both R and in MuMIn) and error disappeared! Running quasipoisson GAM in MuMIn: As for my questions on GAM and " to

Winbind in Samba 2.2.5 not automatically mapping the NT users with corresponding UNIX accounts
Have you tried in smb.conf username map = /usr/local/samba/lib/domainuser.map winbind use default domain = no For every user you have to create an entry in the /usr/local/samba/lib/domainuser.map, that looks like <unixusername> = "<domainname>+<username>" I?m using a script that generates the domainuser.map automaticly, because our users are using NIS

[LLVMdev] [icFuzz] Help needed with analyzing randomly generated tests that fail on clang 3.4 trunk
Hi Karen, Thanks much for your comment and for sharing of your experience. icFuzz has a core that is "really" random, but does not cover the entire C space. The tool was designed from scratch to be extensible, and comes with a couple of extensions that target some of compiler optimizations optimizing compilers typically do: CSE, loop interchange, vectorization, etc. But even in the case

rsync : old file dates generating error during nfs rsync session: Value Too large for defined data type
I was troubleshooting a problem we were having with some files not rsyncing properly over an nfs mount (the destination device is a snapserver (NAS) that did not have native ability to receive streaming rsync info, that's why we were doing this rsync over an NFS connection to the snapserver). Anyway, at first I thought this was just one of the quirks of the snapserver (it isn't

enhanced MDS
Hi again Sorry, in looking again at sammon and isoMDS I see that they seem to do exactly what I want, except that they are non-metric, which means, as I understand it, that they relate the rank orders of the variables rather than the actual distances. Could I use these non-metric MDS packages even if my distances are metric? Thanks Karen -- Karen Kotschy Centre for Water in the Environment

try FlexMix RE: mulitmodal distributions
Hi, Marion, I believe the package FlexMix provides a more generalized version of finite mixture modeling than is found in mclust/mclust02. Dear R Users, I am hoping you can help me. I have received code from a colleague who uses Matlab. I need to translate it into R. I am wondering if there is a randomization t-test (from non-parametric statistics) function already defined in R. (In Matlab the function is randtest.m.) ************************************************************************ ********** QUESTION: Is anyone

[LLVMdev] DSNodes for main() neither complete nor global?
Hi, I'm noticing that there are some DSNodes in main() that are neither complete nor global. Specifically, a heap DSNode that is used but not free()d in main() is not marked complete. This is not the only case I'm noticing, but it's the only case I'm noticing for nodes that are actually used by instructions in the function. Is this expected behavior? If so, is there an

(S4) Neither AXFR nor authoritative nameserving available?
Hello all, I'd like to have redundant DNS in our setup. But it seems that Samba 4 does not yet support AXFR with its internal DNS server. Alright, that's fine, so I figured I'd configure the system such that at the very least, a caching nameserver was sitting in front of it. However, that doesn't work; the caching nameserver (BIND 9) returns SERVFAIL, apparently because
