Xen not booting in Unstable
pkg-xen-devel at lists.alioth.debian.org is probably a better bet for Xen
issues (CCd) than xen-devel.

Sort (indices only)
I am using the function 'spectrum'. It returns two arrays that are interesting to me. One would be the wieght or density of a given frequency with the irequency given in another array. I would like to take the top 'n' weights which would be the top 'n' frequencies contributing to the signal. One way to do this would be to use 'sort' which would sort the weights but

simulation
I'm using an R program (which I did not write) to simulate multilevel data
(subjects in locations) used in power calculations. It uses lmer to fit a
mixed logistic model to the simulated data based on inputs of means,
variances, slopes and proportions:
?
(fitmodel <- lmer(modelformula,data,family=binomial(link=logit),nAGQ=1))
where modelformula is set up in another part of the program.?

4.1.0 auditing : can't get only wanted vfs operations to log
HI all,
So I'd like to log the user's operations on some shares.
As I need to know who made what when.
I'd read a previous answer from Andrew about auditing, so I can see
loggued operations.
Modified smb.conf :

Samba rpm and /var/*/samba directory for .tdb files
Hi,
I use CentOS4 (RHEL4) and it seems that I was using /var/lib/samba
for storing the .tdb files. Then I compilled the fedora .src.rpm from
samba.org
and it points now to /var/cache/samba
I will build tonight the .rpm from the .tar.gz and see which directory samba
choose for the .tdb files in CentOS4.
Anyone can confirm this list of distro/.tdb directory:
Fedora: /var/cache/samba
CentOS4:

Samba on top of NFS question
I am sorry for the long *involved* post, however we are at wits end and
advice would be greatly appreciated.
Background: We have three servers in this example. Two of the servers (we
will call Server A & B) each have a 2.7T raid 5 array that is mirrored with
DRBD and monitored for failover with Heartbeat. NFS is running and
exporting the array on Heartbeats virtual IP.

VFS Extended Auditing Module Debug Information
Folks,
Given recent discussion on this list I have just updated the master Samba-Docs
information regarding the Debug Class (Log Level) settings and the audit
information each causes to be logged. This will appear in on-line versions of
the Samba-HOWTO-Collection within 24 hours. To obtain an updated version

Files being deleted when loging in two machines #2
Hi,
I have a server running Linux RedHat 6.2 + updates and samba 2.0.7
Y have samba running as a PDC and many Win98 clients.
Y have a 'TMP' share like the /tmp en Linux.
The problem is that if I login with the same user in two machines, and
then copy a file to the 'TMP' share, files from that share are being
deleted.
First I think this was a problem with 'move' operation

Any ideas why a vfs module loads successfully then can't be found?

[ACL] granting modify but not delete permission to a file
Hi.
In WinXP I can setup the permission of a file so that a user can modify
the file,
but he can not delete the file.
I wonder if this is posible in Linux + ACL patch + Samba 3.0 compilled
with --with-acl?
Many thanks

dbus can't send to audit system
I'm seeing this in /var/log/messages:
Oct 7 20:46:25 centos dbus: Can't send to audit system: USER_AVC avc:

Some googling suggested this was due to a policy issue a year ago, but I'm
seeing it with selinux-policy-targeted-2.4.6-30.el5.

User audit logging
Hi
I have setup user auditing with extd_audit and its working fine , i
have it logging to log file = /var/log/samba/%U.%m.log and that is
great for identifying the users and machines ...But the syslog entries
don't have a username or host information and I want to use syslog to
ship the logs to a central logging server. Can I configure it to log
username and hostname (or ip) to syslog with

Account lockouts caused by SAMBA + WinBind do not report "Caller Computer Name" in security audit
Hello all,
We are troubleshooting an issue that when SAMBA is joined to a Windows
domain controller as a member server that has password failure lockouts
configured, the Windows security auditing does not show the "Caller
Computer Name" in the event ID generated (4740).
We are using Samba 4.6.2 from CentOS 7. We posted a Bugzilla at Red Hat

SSID subgroups question??
I have Samba as a PDC w/ openLDAP backend. Everything works great. I
have a question on how sub-groups work. For instance, my "Domain
Users" group will have a SID of
S-1-5-21-2213288279-2770996180-1086272762-513
What if I create a group under that one. Should it be
"...-513-something" I am wondering how samba will know it is a sub
group without a different ID. I am using

Yum install samba
Hi,
I just wonder why my yum repos only shows samba 3.0.14a which is
quite old.
Do I have to set up a special repo for the samba packages?
And yes I know that I should use rpm and I usually do that but I want
to install an old version and I only find the latest rpm in the
download area.
Cheers,
Henrik
