Browse List propagation under Samba
I am using Samba version 3.0.10-1.fc2. It is configured as an NT domain controller and has been working well. I needed to add a routed (over VPN) connection to the system but cannot get the routed clients to access the browse list. The clients are all Windows XP professional. The remote client is not a domain member. All clients work when directly connected to the Samba server (broadcast),

Browse list propagation
I had some discussion about this problem at the end of January and have investigated further. The problem: Clients directly connected to the subnets of the Samba server get a browse list (network neigborhood), while clients that access the serveer over a router do not. there are no broadcasts, Samba is functioning as a WINS server and is working for all clients (nblookup proves this). Errors when NT4sp3 is the client; 95 works
I am trying to get Samba 2.0.3 up on MacOSXServer (which is BSD 4.4). I can't get NT to recognize samba shares. Samba is running as security=server, pointed to an NT PDC for security (using the netbios name; should this be by ip address?); passwords are encrypted. I can use smbclient to attach to my own samba shares. I can also attach to other NT shares as a client and view network lists. I

Samba WINS issues over VPN
I am running Samba 3.4.8 as a PDC on Solaris 10. I recently made this the WINS master- previously the BDC (Samba 3.0.37 on another Solaris 10 server.) I also use Sonicwall ipsec VPN for remote access (Windows XP clients.) The sonicwall client creates a virtual NIC on the client so that the client can have an IP address directly on the company LAN (ie. the same LAN as the samba

Cross-Subnet Browsing Problem
Hi all, I've had cross-subnet browsing working in Samba in the past, though I tend to struggle with it each time I set it up. For whatever reason, I can't seem to get things working this time. Summary: Only my desktop, not the file server, shows up in the desktop's Network Neighborhood. (I have left the machines running for several hours, in case there's a time-to-sync issue

Notebook cannot open session when disconnected after samba PDC upgrade
Hello, I have a problem with my XP SP2 notebook user after a server upgrade. I was running a samba 3.0.14a-3 on a debian server with PDC settings, I'd have to change the server, and now I'm running a samba 3.0.24-ubuntu1.2 on a ubuntu feisty server. But now, when my notebook users are disconnected from the network and can't reach the samba/PDC server, they can't open a

Samba, id, uid, Active Directory and CentOS 5
I have some CentOS 5 systems that are part of an Active Directory Windows 2003 domain (using natively configured files - not likewise open). getent passwd my_account reveals uid and gid are both 10000:10000. Thus, typing: % id reveals a uid of 10000. /etc/passwd does NOT have my local account created - credentials are strictly from the Active Directory domain. The username is of the format

Quick thought on win32-mmap
I suggest getting rid of the hash style arguments fior new() for this package. In this particular case, you already have a class and accessors, so you can just use the yield trick, e.g. rb_yield(self) if rb_block_given_p(). Thus you can do: mm = Mmap.new do |m| m.namespace = file m.swapfile = sfile m.size = 1024 end Looks just as nice, and is a lot less code on the C side of

Proper Shortcuts!
Hi, i was really searching a lot (not only on this board), but im still not able to create reliable Launchers / Shortcuts for Wine Applications. While there are certainly many ways, which will SOMEtimes work for SOME Apps, I would appreciate it very much if there was a secure, reliable by-the-book way. So, there are certain apps on my pc, that run fine with wine, but it is of course always a

I tried booting with an older kernel (3.10.0-514.21.1.el7.x86_64) and/or downgrading rpcbind to rpcbind-0.2.0-38.el7.x86_64 (all three combinations: each one separately and both at the same time), but it didn't work.

ctree (party) changing font sizes in plots
When plotting Binary Trees (ctree) from the party package, is there a way to adjust the font sizes of the leaves? require(party) irisct <- ctree(Species ~ ., data = iris) plot(irisct) I want to adjust the font sizes for "Node 2", "Node 5", etc. I'd also like to be able to adjust the font sizes for the x-axis and y-axis labels of the histograms. Thanks,

Below is hopefully the revelent output from dmesg and /var/log/messages. I have had this b4 but this is the first time I have been able to get any useful information from it. The machine usually locks and all I see is the assertion failure on

libgfapi disk locking in virtlockd not working
Hello. I'm playing with libgfapi network disks, over IB and all is working fine, but not disk locking (and true rdma transport). I use virtlockd, and with fuse mount, locking works as expected. But when i converted disk definitions to libgfapi, locks are not created (but qemu starts and works fine). I used direct and indirect locking - same result : qemu working fine, no locks. my
