Rspec book issue (mastermind example)
Hey Everyone,
Just a simple question. I have read and re-read the examples and I''m
not getting the proper output. I''m on page 73/74 of the Rspec book
and it says I should have "4 steps passed". I think the problem is
within my /step_definition/mastermind.rb" file. It''s definitely not
beyond me to make a mistake, but I have checked and double checked my

address (nil), cause 'memory not mapped'
Dear users,
I got this problem and i don't have a clue of what it could be happening...
The context: i'm running a loop in which i extract information from a raster
map (I work with GRASS and R, using spgrass6 package), and rearrange it to
create a matrix. I've tried it with small maps and it works smoothly, but in
large maps I have to resort to saving data in the hard disk regularly

Authenticating off a Windows 2003 ADS DC with Samba/Winbind
[originally posted to fedora-users]
I'm having difficulty getting samba/winbind to authenticate of a W2K3
box. I've searched the list archives and although there
are some similar problems, none have seemed to help resolve this one.
Here's the network configuration:
- Windows 2003 Server gx270-rmaniar [192.168.0.100]
- Fedora Core 3 gx280rmaniarFC3 [192.168.0.5]

re: Samba + Winbind + SuSE Linux AD auth not working
ok here's the situation; i've done this on 7 servers
same either SLES 9 or 10, and all those work. i have a
problem server though which is SLES v9 (same versions
of all daemons/services that would be used) and this
one just wont allow AD auth to work
i can restart all smb, nmb, winbind, and ssh servers
with no errors

Problems viewing shares on a SAMBA/Windows 2003 ADS setup
Greetings,
I've set up a Fedora Core 4 server to be a file server, among other
things, to a mostly-Windows network. The Windows server I'm using to
authenticate against is a fully-patched Windows 2003 Small Business
server. I've used as many tutorials online that I can find. However,
once the server joins the domain and a share has been created, I am
bombarded with constant login

Re: iscsi with gluster i want to make it
Hi Viraj,
Gluster Ver. 3.x supports replication over WAN but currently very
limited. I assume it will expand as time moves on.
As for ISCSI. I doubt Glusterfs will ever support ISCSI. ISCSI
operates at the block level. Gluster only works on the filesystem
level. The only way to have iscsi on Gluster would be to export an
iscsi target that is a file on gluster.
As for snapshot and

Windows 2003 Active Directory - Cannot access Samba shares
Hello,
I've spent the last couple of days following the HOW-TO's on how to make a
Linux server running Samba part of a Windows 2003 Active Directory, and a
lot of supplemental research from these groups and elsewhere, but now I'm
totally stuck and I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.
Basically, most of the configuration seems to be working:

Insufficient access error
I've been working on getting Samba 3.0.4-2 to join our test W2k3 Active
Directory for most of the day. When I try to join with this command :
net ads join -U w702a-palmadesso "w702\NonCatComputers"
According to my official Samba HowTo Book this should join the domain
specified in my smb.conf. Instead I get the following output :

Dear R-Mastermind
Within a while or a for-loop, is there a way that I can save to disk the
results of the previous calculations at the end of each loop with filenames
called "file01.Rdata", "file02.Rdata" etc?
So far, I have tried to write the outcome of each loop in a 3 dimensional
array and saved it just once after the loop. Or is there another way so that
I can keep

Urgent Samba / Squid NTLM Auth Problems
Hi,
We are having problems setting up a squid cache server to use NTLMv2
authentication to authenticate users against AD.
We have narrowed the problems down to being a problem between samba and
squid when using NTLMv2. It constantly moans about the password being wrong
when using squid, but doing a direct samba auth works fine. We have
(believedly) narrowed it down to this: the domain requires

Problems running features with Textmate Cucumber bundle
I finally plunked down for the beta RSpec bundle and I''m working
through the initial example. Although I''m a fairly experienced RSpec
user, I''m stlll learning new tricks.
Anyway, I''m going though the mastermind example, and everything is
going well, except that I decided to also try out the Textmate bundle
for Cucumber. I decided to use Ben Mabey''s

ADS Join and Insufficient Access
My agency is moving all users and computers to a new domain. Our current domain uses AD and the new domain will use AD. My current samba servers are running 3.0.20a with ADS security with winbind on Debian Stable (Sarge) with no problems.
I set up a test samba server using 3.0.20b, the new krb5.conf and smb.conf.
kinit works fine. ("Authenticated to Kerberos v5")
I prestage the server

Help with RHEL4 and AD 2003 Authentication
Hello,
I've been reading up on lots of documents that mention the different ways to
do things as far as joining a linux machine to AD and authentication. I've
tried most of them but its not helping at all. I've included my config files
for smb.conf, krb5.conf, pam.d/system-auth and the applicable
nsswitch.conflines. For security reasons, i've obscured part of the
domain name. Any

Member Server in Active Directory
I'm trying to join a Samba 3.0.4 (compiled from source on Debian) to an
Active Directory as a member server. I believe Kerberos is configured
correctly as kinit creates a ticket for the realm. Executables appear to have
support for Kerberos and LDAP (smbd -b | grep KRB and grep LDAP) return OK.
When I try to join the AD with
net ads join -U myadminusername

Samba ADS domain member issues
Hi, I am having problems configuring my Centos 4 server as an ADS domain
member of our 2003 AD. I've followed the instructions on samba.org and
did quite a bit of Google'ing and haven't found an answer to the problems.
Basically I used the configuration illustrated in this section of the
howto, and of course a number of other suggestions I've found along the way:
