I'm trying to cross-compile Samba 3.0.21a to run on mipsel (using uClibc). problems upgrading from 3.0.20b to 3.0.21a
I ran into some problems last night upgrading from 3.0.20b to 3.0.21a. I did my usual build from source, but when I ran it, winbindd would die on me. So I invoked it with -d10 -F and watched the progress on the console. It takes a while reading the winbindd_idmap.tdb file and then eventually, it displays the message "Aborted" and dies. Any ideas? As it was on a production server, I

Try adding these to your smb.conf after the 'set printing = bsd' and restart your daemons load printers = No disable spoolss = Yes show add printer wizard = No btw, be sure to remove the quotes from the lines (i.e. set "printing=bsd" should read: set printing = bsd not set "printing=bsd" (you probably knew that already) Are your Windows clients trying to print

sernet-samba 3.0.21a-6 (Debian): wrong path for registry.tdb
Hi, I am running sernet-samba 3.0.21a-6 (Debian) with winbind as a member server in a (NT4-)domain. Problem after upgrade from 3.0.14a to 3.0.21a
We have 2 Samba Domain Controllers and 1 Samba Domain Member Server, running on Solaris 9. The Solaris servers are native LDAP clients to two OpenLDAP servers. All user-info is available on these servers (getent passwd). Before upgrading to Samba 3.0.21a, we were running Samba 3.0.14a. On the Domain Member Server, when selecting the security-tab of a file or folder, the users were listed as

smbpasswd and rpcclient differences between 3.0.14a and 3.0.21a
Hi all, The problem is that from version 3.0.21a the commands rpcclient and smbpasswd does't work as before (and as I wish), when connecting to remote Windows2000 domain controller. Below are some tests and outputs, which show the command outputs. In both cases samba is compiled from original sources. OS - Debian testing and verified on Ubuntu. RPCLIENT: ./rpcclient -c 'queryuser

Any ESRI users? Upgrade 3.0.14 to 3.0.21a broke Arcmap layer loading?
We just upgraded our samba server from 3.0.14 to 3.0.21a and have discovered a subtle but very painful problem. Users of ESRI ArcMap (on fully patched Windows XP clients) are unable to read complex layered file data. Arcmap works fine with 3.0.14, it works fine with the data on a windows share, and it works fine when I set up a server to run the version of samba shipping with Solaris 9 (3.0.2! ).

Samba 3.0.21a (64 Bit) dumps core when trying to join domain on Solaris 9
Hi, I recently tried to get Samba 3.0.21a running on Solaris 9 several times, using different build environments. The compilers in use where Sun Forte Version 11 and gcc 3.4.2. The binaries where compiled for 64 bit, using CFLAGS="-m64" for gcc for example. I just used configure --prefix=<path> The core file analysis of the latest build shows that strlen() is called: # mdb core

Samba Upgrade to 3.0.21a
I have just upgrade Samba from version 2.2.8a to 3.0.21a and everything is working fine except for one user. Samba is running on HPUX version 11.11 and we have XP workstation attaching to the shares. One user is running XP but his workstation is running 64bit while all the others that work are 32bit OS. I've looked through all the readme's and install docs I can find and can't

Samba 3.0.21a panic - oplock problem?
I upgraded from Samba 3.0.20 to 3.0.21a last night on my Solaris 10 machine. After the upgrade, everything seemed to work fine, but I see that Samba is panic'ing in the logs. As far as I can tell, the client retries whatever it was doing and succeeds (at least, we've had no reports of problems from our users). I have attached a level 10 debug, backtrace, and my smb.conf. SOLVED was Re: Any ESRI users? Upgrade 3.0.14 to 3.0.21a broke Arcmap layer loading?
Did not hear from anyone on this, so maybe we are the only ESRI users who got bit, but this turned out to be an issue with oplocks. Disabling oplocks on the server eliminated the problem.
