central samba server
I have about 10 linux/unix machines running samba, one of which should be a central samba server. Additionally, I have about 30 Windows machines. My problem is that I want the share(s) of the other linux/unix machines to be mounted on the samba server, so that they only can be access via this server. But if I run samba on the other linux/unix machines, I can also access their shares directly,

apply function
Hi all, I have a question about apply function. Is that possible to pass some non-default arguments in the function we want to apply ? For example: if "mat" is a matrix and I want to use the "tabulate" function on its row. The command apply(mat,1,tabulate) works but I have problem with this one apply(mat, 1, tabulate(nbins=4)). Any clue ? Thanks, Eric -- Eric

[LLVMdev] pointer to vector
hi! typedef __attribute__((ext_vector_type(2))) int * int2; produces an error but shouldn't this be a pointer to a vector of 2 elements instead of a vector of two pointers? when doing const char* str; we also get a pointer to a const character -Jochen -- Jochen Wilhelmy, Dipl.-Ing. Changing IP address of a Samba NT4 PDC
Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to change the IP address of a Samba NT4 PDC? So far I could only find the guide regarding Samba AD DCs. What do I need to take into account, and what are the general steps apart from re-configuring networking? Thank you very much, Benjamin

conntrack event/hook when ''expected'' connection terminates ?
Hello, I need to understand how conntrack_core.c handles the termination of ''expected'' connection; handling in the case when ''expected'' connection arrived, then terminates (In my conntrack module, I need to specially handle the event of termination termination of ''expected'' connection.) In ip_conntrack_core.c, I can''t find the

/dev/loopX not released when domU terminates ?
Hello all, I have some DomU''s with root and swap images on files under Xen 3.0.0 Investigating some cases of boot failure of domUs, I stumbled upon the fact that when a domU is shutdown via xm shutdown, not all of its images are released from their /dev/loopX - devices. That is, for i in /dev/loop*; do losetup $i; done still shows output for that image. It seems to me that the

Ubunut + Eclipse + StatET: Console terminates upon error
Dear List, I''m trying to set up Eclispe (3.5.1) with the StatET-Plugin (0.8.1) under Ubuntu (Karmic) and found it strange that my console terminates every time something in a script produces an arbitrary error (e.g. just calling a missing variable, trying to perform an illegal operation etc.). Can anyone tell me why this happens or even better how to fix this? Thanks a lot, Janko

Setup terminates prematurely
Dear Wine Community, I have recently installed the latest snapshot of Wine (20011108). The build and install seems to have gone fine, but I'm running into a roadblock when ever I try to install a windows application. I get as far as where the actual install should start (after answering the various questions about files to install, where to install, etc), then I get a brief flash, like a

Asterisk terminates unexpectedly with SIP call and G.723 codec
Hi, I'm using a Cisco ATA186 and iConnect to complete PSTN calls to the US. I've noticed that when I set the Cisco ATA to use LBRCodec to 0 (g.723 instead of g.729), AudioMode 0x00150015 and RxCodec, LxCodec to 0, (use g.723) Asterisk will connect to iConnect, successfully natively bridge the call and then about two seconds later not just drop the call, but terminate unexpectedly.

libvirtd terminates running instances after monitor's socket inode id is changed
We accidentally moved /var/lib/libvirt/qemu to another directory which is on a different disk partition, then we moved it back; however, that caused changing the inode ids of the files inside /var/lib/libvirt/qemu including the socket files ( <instance>.monitor ) of the running VMs. The problem we are facing is that when libvirtd is restarted it terminates the running VMs with "error :

Problem: Samba terminates
Hi, I have at home two PC's, one is running Windows 2000, the other SuSE Linux 7.3. (Samba 2.2.1) They have a direct Ethernet connection. The Problem I have with Samba is that when I copy a big file (i.e.30 MB) in what ever direction and more than one file is to copy, the network connection terminates after the big file is copied. I must then restart the Linux machine to make the network work

Permissions wrong if rsync terminates prematurely
Hello, We use rsync to synchronize a large folder hierarchy between servers. Sometimes we notice that the permissions of some directories end up being wrong after rsync is run. The source directory has permissions 755 while target permissions sometimes end up being 700. We are using the --timeout option of rsync, and we have additional watchdog process that will terminate the process if a total

Icecast server terminates
Attila, from the random timing of your problem it may be that there is a song file, that is causing the problem (if you are randomly going through a set of mp3s). It may be an icecast thing, or perhaps your program has the problem. Try testing with a song that you know works, and just let it loop forever... Or I could be completely wrong :) the more information you can provide about the

Is it a "Headless problem"? - Same code runs well in interactive R shell, but never terminates with Rscript
Dear R-Experts, I seem to be dealing with a so called "headless" problem in R. I wrote a quite extensive program that generates a Bayesian network from a query protein's Phylogenetic Tree and subsequently uses a message passing algorithm to infer the most likely annotation for the query leaf in the tree using the other leaves known -and proven- protein function annotations.
